    Why did you buy the house if this upsets you so much? Same thing as people who move into a farming community and complain it smells like cattle - douches.
    Over 125k off original list price.

    It’s more of a 5 year investment than anything.

    @s2k_boi

    The owner got a permit to put a basement suite in and in that he got special permission to extend the driveway because he was to close to the traffic circle and didn’t have street parking right in front of his house.

    At the end of the day it’s legal but only because of the traffic circle issue.

    Did you learn that from 311 or from chatting with the neighbor?

    You realize you are talking to the guy who made his own furniture out of salad bowls right?

    Depending on the style, leaving them up (but off) year round, isnt a big deal.

    If they are the large, icicle styled ones or old school large bulb type - yes.

    Just become at peace with the fact that many of your neighbors either dont realize or dont care about their perceived property value due to xmas lights, front yard driveways and overgrown weeds and junk. People just don't care.

    Lol what a thread.

    The end result is the best. Fully legal and permitted like it was mentioned earlier in the thread haha.
    "The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents... some day the piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a new Dark Age."

    Personally there is quite a difference between a widen driveway with 3-4 shitty vehicles on it versus my driveway with a beautiful car hauler and fancy Mercedes

    It’s quite nice winning actually

    Anyways, I moved here because of a deal and the view. I’ll start to focus on that.
