Honda does cheap 0w20 full synthetic oil changes. Dealership says Honda Canada subsidizes the cost of the oil. $65 for the five litres or so that an odyssey takes.

Does that include the labor? I've been to 3 different dealers in the city and they have always charged ~$85 or so for synthetic oil change in my last 2 Civics which I imagine take a fair bit less oil than that V6. You're getting a good deal if that includes labor.

Isn’t Honda famous for giving away lifetime oil changes anyways?

I think my mums odyssey has that from T&T.

I can imagine how much effort and care is going into changes there when they take a loss on every one.

I took my 2010 Civic to Village Honda up at the NW automall for an oil change.

I think it came to around $55 bucks as well which I thought was cheap and my invoice also says synthetic oil.

Yeah, that's with labor, shop supplies, enviro fee and everything.

"Lifetime" means as long as you do your scheduled service there. Pretty much any dealer will do that for you. Most of the time they are combined with the services anyway.

Well shit, everywhere I have ever taken it (before I bought new and they were free) was ~$85.

My ISF oil changes are over $200 with synthetic IIRC (takes 9 or 10 quarts though), anything under $100 seems too good to be true. I was thrilled when I took my wife's RDX in and it was only $68 haha.

No way you are getting synthetic for $58, and I bet Lexus is spec'ing synthetic on their newer vehicles. Every Honda even comes from the factory with full synthetic now, I think most are going that way.
0W20 Synthetic Oil change at Toyota is about $60 as well.

Toyota does "free" oil too. Like any business they can't take a loss, they actually make money by bundling free oil with other services. If you don't follow the service plan, you get no free oil.

The only thing I have to go on is my dad who likes to brag about how he doesn’t pay a dime to keep it on the road and that he will drive it until it literally explodes.

    But

    It is,

On a side note outside of car people itís amazing how many people donít know this about various marks. Big one is infinite and Nissan, for some reason that connection escapes most.

    Horribly pedantic note: it's "marques."

I just picked up a new 2019 RX350, first time Lexus owner. Wanted to know if getting my Lexus serviced at Toyota is still valid? Does it void factory warranty in any way? Is there actually cost differences between shops? Thanks!

I still maintain Lexus’s service is one of biggest perks of the brand.

Toyota was more of a plug your nose experience.

Depends how much a couple bucks is worth to you, can’t comment about warrant. Why don’t you ask Lexus.

I service my 2018 RX350 at Toyota and it doesn’t void warranty. Everything is a lot cheaper at Toyota lol

You can service it at Mikeez quickeelube and it's still valid for warranty bro. Dealership not required.

Might be picking up a 07 RX400h. Will consider go to RO Lexus as we are in the NW. Will also look into Toyota dealerships although previous owner did all services at Lexus of Calgary.

It is, but it's still hard to not plug your nose when you're getting a free manicure and playing on a golf simulator with a waterfall behind you trying to trick yourself into thinking "this is free".
Their $400 GPS updates tell you where that money is going.
