Because both are brewed by big rock and both are called Pilsner, this comparison seemed inevitable. Paired this time with heavy smoke and sitting around the propane fire pit.

Co-op - light hoppy notes, no supporting flavor leaves it feeling a bit flat.
Big Rock. More complex flavor, slight creaminess, well rounded.

When the big rock is on sale. It's the clearly superior beverage, but at full price, I'd be tempted to get the co-op for its excellent value.

Picked up the Big Rock Pilsner last week when it was on sale too.

Inspired by your last comparison I did my own too... Ballin out of control in the cheap beers tread with my $3.29 Pilsner Urquell!!

No surprise Urquell is the best. The Big Rock is pretty good and the PC well it's cheap!

I wish you could still get Urquell for $1.49 like it was 15 years ago. Easily one of my favorites!

Well, drinking this at a community event, so not sure of price, but assume it's cheap.
    Pacific Western Cariboo genuine.

I see I was discussing PW Cariboo Blonde on the first post of this thread.
Ah yes, haven't had those in a while, definitely a budget beer. A bit rough going down but the extra 0.5% will leave you not caring soon enough.

I don't recall seeing the blonde one being sold anywhere, I'd like to give those a shot based on your review.

@Swank only place I've seen them is "Liquor Lane", a small store at 3106 4th St NW. They regularly stock the Cariboo Blonde for @$9.29/ six pack.

^Shoot, that's a bit far, once I add gas money it's no longer a cheap beer haha. Much appreciated though, thanks!

Great, like I really needed to drink more beer this September, but at that price, I can't afford to stay sober!

I've had the Golden Lager, Red Ale and Session IPA, all pretty decent.

Expecting a review of all 4 of them @ExtraSlow

Picked up 12 river valley red today for $14, still a great value.

Also, for you cider drinkers, rock Creek is $10.99 for a six pack at co-op which is as cheap as you'll ever find it.
Also at co-op, Russian standard vodka is $20.99 for a 2-6.

River Valley is buck a can again this weekend. I'm not running a four flavor taste test, but I did grab the golden ale and the red. Have had both before and enjoyed.
