Anyone tried this? Wondering if it's worthwhile to put that in my itinerary in Oct while I'm in Japan.

A guy on my Infiniti Facebook group rented a R35 GTR and from his stories, he enjoyed it. That looks pretty dope.
I thought it was going to be Mario Go Karting from what I seen on a few Japanese Youtube streamers videos.

Well imagine if instead of writing that letter to the editor, she just posts on a car forum for car enthusiasts. That's Kritafo.
Now I'm putting this on my "maybe" list for my Oct. Japan itinerary. I have a couple days in between Suzuka and Tokyo that I'm not sure what to do with yet, and this might just fit the bill

This looks awesome though. I only looked for like 2sec, but didn't find pricing. Anyone know how much it costs?
Did the Ultimate Hakone Drive last year in the Porsche and I would recommend it. It was expensive (~$800 after insurance and gas), but the driving was incredible. The guide provides driving tips and road insights through radio and if you have a decent group it was mostly driving as quick as you dare through some pretty iconic roads. The cars are also well equipped and maintained (the Porsche was equipped with Direzza Star Specs) and you can switch with others if they are ok with it.
Crashes do happen occasionally and it was quite funny at the introduction. The guide shows you pictures of all the crashes. "White Nissan GTR. Crashed. Bought a red one. Also crashed. Bought another one. Please don't crash". A tip would be to bring non drowsy gravol if you have a passenger. I brought a bottle and every passenger in the group took one by the end. Also, probably best to have some experience driving on the left side of the road prior.
I also did the Mario Go Karting on Osaka where the driving pace was much more casual. The costumes were hilarious, it was a great way to see new sites, and being a star for a couple hours was priceless. Seemed like everyone wanted a photo of us or with us.

I feel like I have been seeing an influx of Japan posts/ threads lately. haha Or maybe because I am going they stick out more??
I think QE on yen helped. Chinese has been flooding Japan for last few years since yen got cheap. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Compared to Calgary prices, food are actually cheaper or quite reasonable when it doesn't involve beef or fish.
Wow .. should be fun .. but pretty expensive to drive a whatever JDM ~ $500-600 for 4 hour ..

As opposed to 5min on a track with a R35 for $200? It's a deal! This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
this looks sick. I did the mario karting and it was amazing but I always go in February... Not sure if this would be possible
Z32 TT
1996 Integra - winter beater with studs - RIP (deer)
2002 WRX - to be sold
2010 sti - winter
I pulled the trigger and sent in a request to reserve the R35....
The 964 Turbo seems like the bargain ... being the highest value vehicle there .. and same high service cost as the 355 ...

That's awesome, I know what I am doing next time I go. Next time will be perfect too as I am going to Tokyo vs my usual Osaka family visit. Might do a couple, compare the R34 to the R35
FACK I wish I saw this earlier. I was in Hakone and love that place.
Just did the comparative drives with NC1/Gallardo and R35 for Hakone Drive.
I would say stick with Hakone drive. The comparative drive stick with in town roads that you will be very hard to get the cars passes 60km/h, especially something as wide as Gallardo and NSX thru narrow roads of Hakone.
On the Hakone Drive, also expect another 2000+ yen on tolls and probably another 3500-4000 yen on gas on top of the rental charges.
The Hakone Skyline (with Mount Fuji in the clouds) is quite epic stretch of highway.
Also if you are Intial-D fans, all anime's locations are based on roads/locations around Hakone
Except all those famous corners now have anti-drift speed bumps installed now.
Also MariCar is very cool as well. You actually become the attraction but definitely a fun way to check out Tokyo.
Even with Nintendo's judgement against them, costumes are still in play. Guide said they paid Nintendo for a license but who knows.
