    Default Travel Day-pack

What do you guys usually carry out and about on vacation?
By that I mean when you are out during the day, not necessarily the same as what you carry your stuff onto the plane with.
    See polling.

Just wanna see what everyone else rocks to hold their water bottle, camera, etc.

Mine is something like this but discontinued

My go to travel bag is a messenger bag style briefcase. But that’s mostly just for the air travel portion to hold my laptop and travel docs etc.

For what you are describing just a swissgear sling camera bag. Surprisingly versatile.

I guess it depends where. If you're headed to a USA metropolis where you drive everywhere, a bag is moot.
If you're travelling through Tokyo and buy a good handful of souvenirs throughout the day, a bag is definitely useful.

Very coincidental this thread popped up. Herschel has 'hip packs' which i must admit, have come a long way from what I remember as the fanny pack. Heading off to Japan on Monday - thinking a hip pack might be in the cards for the day trips. I don't much care for lugging a backpack around all day.

Voted other. I have a purse-carrying wife that serves this purpose.

When we're on vacay and out and about, she just takes a bigger purse that can fit a few extra items in it.

I always use my lulu backpack with a ton of pockets, unless it's a work trip, then it's my Tumi side bag.

One note is carrying a bag like any of these around town on vacation is a great way to get targeted as an obvious tourist.

I have a Deuter Compact EXP12 that I bought like 10 years ago that I have brought with me to work every day and as a carry-on and it still looks brand new. Love that bag. There are lots of similar, newer versions at MEC.

For actually going on Vacation I use an Osprey Farpoint 55 which has a detachable day pack, probably the best backpack I have ever seen/used.

Wife carries this for everything that doesn't go into pockets.

Generally, ya. But last few trips of mine have been overseas to Asia - so as a white guy, there's no hiding the fact I'm a tourist. And even trips more locally (North America) I'm taking pictures and enjoying the scenery. It's pretty easy to spot a tourist if they're there for pleasure.

Is that the Peak Design Everyday Sling 10L? I have the 5L for my Mavic Air and it is an awesome bag (though pricy).

Truth. I used a backpack because in Tokyo, I had to carry:

    - Camera
    - Phone
    - Wallet
    - Pocket WiFi
    - Water
    - Random trash since Tokyo doesn't have litter bins nearby

I've still got one of those MEC sling backs from back in the day OP, it's the best! I'm also a real fan of these now just for their massive packability. Durable enough material, I think they're great:

Messenger 15. Carry tons especially if I keep the camera on the clip for easy access.
