I used to always joke "whats a million here or there, when we get to billions, then we'll talk" but I wasn't actually serious.

Boondoggle inbound! Brilliant on the Liberals part, this turd of a deal will be foisted on the conservatives when they get in next year and they'll have to either kill it (probably the best idea at this point and they can force energy east through instead) or forge ahead with it and the shitshow and legacy of the project will be passed onto them.

Well that's a dumb comment. How do the econs look between the two projects? Other than the 'feels' why does energy East make sense?

Well thats a dumb comment, what the fuck does economics have to do with a purely political situation? Retard

If this situation was about economics, we'd have three pipelines being built and possibly almost completed by now (and none nationalized). Additionally, the environmental concerns were much less with Energy East.

Well they did rip it out of the hands of Bantrel and give it to the Stantec Vancouver office. My understanding is they did a cold stop on the job, and then basically had to turn over everything they had done to a new firm.
What scope was that for? Facilities or the Burnaby tunnel maybe, definitely not the line pipe.

So is the Canadian government, you, going to subsidize tolls on the pipeline? Or do you expect private, profit driven enterprise to utilize an uneconomic pipeline? The answer is no, they will utilize the cheaper line 3 and Keystone export pipelines that actually go to the refineries that are tooled for WCS.

But go ahead and present the Fox News version

Energy East was economic, the costs of uncertainty and delays is what makes it uneconomic. Similar with many other projects

At $100 oil. TC would've cancelled it anyway but the opportunity to make a comment on the sorry state of approvals was rightfully taken.
