So i went and got a haircut yesterday, sitting there waiting for my turn, I notice when people pay they dont tip (3 people to be exact). If this is the trend now, am gonna stop too. Haircut is pretty expensive already lol.. Do you guys still tip?

I tip. Always.
Cut usually costs me 32 bucks. I always tip $5. Seems reasonable.
Looking around
Wondering what became
Of what I once knew
I always tip. Man I feel bad if I dont til with anything asking to tip on a debit machine, my wife hates when I do that lol.
I always tip....
The head massage, and scalp scratches I get are worth 10 times my tip haha....
...@therealarifjina...
So if those same three people went outside and walked in front of bus and got smushed, would you do the same thing? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Don't fall prey to the herd mentality.
Will fuck off, again.
Usually tip, although only a couple bucks. Of course, my barber owns the shop, and the old-school rule of thumb I learned was that you don't tip professionals or owners.

Been going to the same barber for the past 3 years. Yes I always tip. Skin fade costs me $20, I tip $5. Theres some people you should always tip, and your barber is one of them. I feel he takes a bit more time when he lines me up

Well imagine if instead of writing that letter to the editor, she just posts on a car forum for car enthusiasts. That's Kritafo.
Kind of off topicbut what is the standard tip now at restaurants in calgary?... for awhile during the boom it felt like one was being an absolute piece of shit if they didn't tip 20 percent, I always do 12 or 15?!
I tip 30-50 every time, depending on how late I am and if I am not late, I still tip more than the cut costs, so I can get in whenever I want/on short notice.
I tip $7.50.

I go to Tommy Guns, and my tip is 100% based on the quality of the scalp massage.
The hairdressers are starting to catch on I think as the quality has gone up significantly
That's when I kick it into high gear and really start tipping. haha. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

$5.00 for my barber. $0 for barista's
Lol at the guys tipping over double the cost of the entire haircut. That is so unnecessary I'm not even sure if I believe that is true.
I tip Great Clips $5 for my cheap haircuts - most people tip zero at a place like that so I look like a baller and they often appear surprised by the amount I've got expensive haircuts before to see if I am missing out, most of them half-ass the scalp massage anyway, and the quality of the actual cut is the same, at least for me.
Minimum wage in Alberta right now is $13.60, going up to $15.00 in October. Come October, I think even 10% will be generous if all they do is the bare minimum (take your order, fill waters, answer a couple questions, etc.) In Calgary though you will always get a dirty look unless it's at least 20% - they just expect it.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member.
