Any recommendations for a barbershop that takes appointments? Seems that most are by walk-ins only and I'd like to find someone I can go to consistently without walking in and hoping that particular barber is free for a cut

Don't know any old school barbershops that do appointments.

Cannibal in Bridgeland does appointments. But they're crazy expensive. I go to Tommy Guns, get a great massage and neck shave every time.
1968 Impala: Status: Stored
1977 Dodge Triple E RV: Sold
1989 Mercedes Benz 420 SEL: Sold
2008 Mercedes Benz C230: Cruising
2000 Bluebird TC2000: Build phase of skoolie project
2018 Rav4 XLE: New baby friendly daily
Cutting Edge in Discovery Ridge, they don't take appointments but I have never had to wait more than 30. Neck shave and hot shave if you want. Great guys too.
I used to go to a small shop in the elveden center downtown. Proper old school place, even has a little smut in the waiting area to pass the time. I think they took appointments, family run place with father and son and maybe one or 2 other guys?

Go here, book a skin fade and hot shave with Azad at the Royal Oak location.
I walk out of there and I can literally almost taste the Grade A farm raised Alberta pussy that I'm on my way to go service. You see, with a bald fade, said lady tends to have a lot of grip when she grabs you by the back of the head (assumably from the friction caused by her gripping my head against the grain of my hair). Once in awhile, if you get a REALLY good haircut, this allows for accidental waterboarding type issues since you've got her a little bit more excited then you had aimed for. In this case, its much safer to keep a position of control, on top, so that she doesn't accidentally drown you, boy would she have some ass'plainin to do.
IN SHORT, AS SOMEONE WHO SLAYS IN THE NW (a lot to do with my barber) TLR, WHATEVER,
1. GO TO A BARBERSHOP, NOT A SALON
2. HAVE YOUR HAIRCUT BY A MAN, NOT A WOMAN (yes the boobs in your face are probably great while you get the shitty haircut but you won't be getting anywhere near boobs again until...your next haircut)
3. NEVER COMPROMISE. A LOT OF PUSSIES GET A HAIRCUT WITH A FEMALE BECAUSE THEY'RE EMPATHETIC AND UNDERSTAND IF YOU DON'T LIKE YOUR HAIRCUT EYHHHHGHHHHH. ALWAYS REMEMBER, IF YOU DONT LIKE IT, DONT LEAVE. YOUR BARBER WANTS YOU TO LIKE YOUR HAIRCUT BECAUSE IF YOU LIKE YOUR HAIRCUT YOU ARE CONFIDENT IN YOURSELF AND IF YOU ARE CONFIDENT IN YOURSELF AND YOU HAVE A COUPLE OTHER ABILITIES AND GOD BLESSED YOU WHERE YOU NEEDED HIM TO, YOU WILL GO OUT AND GET LAID. IF YOU GO OUT AND GET LAID, THE NEXT THING YOU DO IS LOOK AT YOURSELF IN THE MIRROR IN THE MORNING AND WONDER "WHAT DID I DO RIGHT"
YOU WENT TO A BARBERSHOP AND YOU GOT YOURSELF A FUCKING CHOPDOWN THAT YOU ARE PROUD OF, AND THAT THE LADIES APPRECIATE EVEN MORE.
ALL YOU GUYS WERE WONDERING WHY THE BEYOND BALLERS TIP THEIR BARBERS LIKE THEY DO. THIS IS WHY.
Rinse, repeat.
CMW403 OUT.

Cannibal in Bridgeland is my go to. I love having some bourbon on the patio after a great haircut. The price is reasonable $40 and includes a drink, after which is a nice way to unwind.
But CMW403's response was pretty awesome, maybe there is hope for a Jersey Shore Calgary Version?
Are there any in town that offer touch-up fades (i.e., every two weeks or so) and at a lower price than a regular cut?
At The Ave you can definitely call in and let them know that all you want is a touchup fade I'm sure they would just charge you $15. The owner there is a good guy
I used Mancuso Barbershop in Mardaloop a few times.
You can book online, he does not do walkins.

On a side note. Im doing free haircut from 'Kijji' today. Lets see if my hair gets messed up. Will report back later
OP is not worried about the wait times, hes looking for a regular barber that knows what you want and how your hair goes so you dont have to explain it each time(correct me if im wrong op). For some guys its a pretty straight forward cut but for guys like me and CMW403 we need it done proper lolThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
