Default Coworking space - meeting rooms

I know there's dozens of coworking spaces around, but for a project I'm looking at, my requirements are somewhat unique.
Need a meeting room or closed collaboration space for 4-6 loud people to meet/argue for 3 hours 2-3 times a week. Seems like that's outside the norm for most places. Don't really need the individual desks much at all. It's those meetings that are most important.

Any suggestions? Can be downtown or elsewhere. We are all mobile.

Tons of space and rooms available at the post secondary schools. Especially over the summer.

UofC DT campus rents breakout rooms. They have loads of them.

I'll throw some general info on here, as I run one of the business centres downtown with 2 locations..

-Sounds like you are looking for casual meeting rooms, which most places will offer to an outside client on an hourly, half day, daily or multi use rate.
-You will need to decide on what services you require and the amount of people attending.

    -An idea of rates:
    -Small Room (4 people), Internet
    $35/hr, $120 1/2 day, $300/day

-Medium Room (10 people Wifi, Projector/screen, conference call ability)
    $60/hr, $200 1/2 Day, $350/day

-Large Boardroom (20 people, Wifi, Projector, screen, conference call ability)
    $100/hr, $350 1/2 day, $600/day

Keep in mind these are blanket rates, as with most things rates can be negotiated, especially with volume booking. One other option may be to just rent an office for a month, but you would also be hit with deposit charges for damage/keys/access cards. Offices range from $700 a month and up.
If you are really loud, id expect to run into some pushback depending on the location you choose. Most of these meeting rooms are in the middle of other offices, and not many are completely soundproof.

Thanks for the several PM's and information here. I will check into these things. Seems the meeting rooms are a hell of a lot mroe expensive than a desk at this coworking spaces.
    that sucks.

Totally didn't think of them. I've used them for events before, that's an interesting idea.

Get up in the corner of the 3rd or 4th floor and no one will care how loud you are.

I use them a few times a semester and they should serve your purpose well. No idea on price for non students, but then again you have some contacts in the faculty of engineering I imagine.

Coworking is usually $300+ a month around town, but you would have to dig around to see who offers unlimited meeting room use with that $300... and what their minimum contract length is. Id guess 60 days would be the minimum. (30 days, then full calendar month notice to terminate)
Our Coworking area is $350/month, but they only get a limited amount of meeting room time. (Typically 5hrs a month)

Have done some researching, as at the UofC downtown campus, they charge $40/hr for small breakout rooms with no AV. Coworking space meeting rooms seems to be in the $50/hr range and up. Some require monthly memberships on top, some do not..

The meeting rooms at the various public library locations are only for non-commercial purposes, but are free. I will be investigating this further.

To bad you need it more than once a month. Our office rents out our meeting rooms from time to time but it sounds like you need something more often. Too bad, we have one room that has a high acoustic rating, dual monitors with screen sharing and Casper film on the glass so people can't see the content on the screens.

Too bad these guys haven;t set up shop here yet. They have a fantastic workshare place in Seattle.
