Default No More Swimsuit Part for Miss America

    https://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-44370240

Now I don't watch the Miss America pageant, but if you get rid of the swimsuit section and the evening gown, doesn't that basically just kill it? The whole competition has always been about looks, not brains, as some very circulated clips have demonstrated. In a few years, is it just gonna be a bunch of fatties with brains talking? This is the kinda stupidity you get from an all-female board of directors...

Victoria Secret Fashion Show already got that market covered.

Even in my early teens, that was weak ass shit. About as titillating as a sears catalog.

The Miss America Pageant is now just as relevant as the 2004 Sears Christmas Wish catalogue.

too bad. No one really cared how a contestant was going to "change the world", we all just went to watch hot chicks in swimsuits. Now that it is gone, well, what's the point now?

The last time I cared about a pageant was when a contestant from Miss Teen American went on GDP for her first shoot.

Someone please get one of the Miss Americas to do the same haha.

Coming back to this, a thought was in the back of my mind.

Women's liberation, embraced sexuality, more leniency/allowed prostitution... and yet it is insulting for a woman who chooses to be scored based in part on her looks to participate in a contest and therefore that part of the contest must be removed?

And next year they’ll be all confused when the ad revenues plummet.

Pretty sure that 90% of the viewers aren’t too concerned with the intellect of the contestants.
