    Default Interesting car collecting question/game

I've always thought it would be fun to have at least one sports car of most engine types. For example:

    Inline 4
    Inline 5
    Inline 6
    V6
    Flat 6
    V8
    V10
    12 Cylinder
    Rotary

What combination of cars with these engines do you think would give you the best $ per HP? Using stock HP numbers only - not modded cars. And using approximate values today. Try to be realistic - not picking obvious rock bottom junker/cheater prices for the cars you pick.

    Like this:

    1989 944 Turbo, 247 hp, $15,000
    1993 Audi S4, 227 hp, $5000
    1993 Supra Turbo, 320 hp, $45,000
    2009 Nissan 370z, 333 hp, $20,000
    2001 Porsche 911 Turbo, 415 hp, $50,000
    2009 MB C63 AMG, 451 hp, $ 27,000
    2003 Viper, 510 hp, $40,000
    2007 S65 AMG, 604 hp, $50,000
    1993 RX7, 255 hp, $ 15,000

    $267,000 / 3362 hp = $79.42 per HP

Now this isn't the collection I would desire to own. More of a fun exercise. The collection I would want is: 968 Turbo, RS3, R34 GTR, NSX, GT2 RS, F40, CGT, Zonda, FD3S

    How about you guys?

That's a crazy amount of thought you've put into this.

I don't have the time to do the same, but if you're going to, might as well make it from 1 to XX cylinders. Pick one model of each. IE, the Isetta for a single cylinder, a split 2-cylinder Fiat or Morgan maybe, a straight 3 like the Fiesta, all the way up to the V16 Veyron. Are there bigger ones? I'm not even sure. That would make things interesting.

The problem with things like a 1-3 cylinder or 16 cylinder is the options are extremely limited. The idea was spurred on by my current collection and holes in it - I've never had a 10 or 12 cylinder car. Got me thinking it would be really cool to experience/own one of each.

    Honda S2000 (Inline 4)
Volvo 850 T5-R Estate in Yellow (Inline 5)
    Nissan Skyline GT-R R32 (Inline 6)
Mercedes Project One, or any current F1 car (V6)
    Porsche 991 GT3 RS (Flat 6)
    Mercedes-Benz CLK63 Black Series (V8)
Dodge Viper. Any Dodge Viper (V10)
    Mercedes-Benz SL65 Black Series (12 Cylinder)
Lawn Mower to keep my lawn pristine when I show off my cars on them (Rotary)

If I had the money for that many cars, I wouldn't care about $/HP. All about cars that made an impression on me over the years.

OMG.. This car... I was actually going to pick that but I could not fit it.

Tony, I think I'm falling in love with you. I know a guy with a DeLorean too.
Story time.. It was around 2002 I think. I had parked near Piccadilly Circus in central London. Friday night lots of people around, lots of fancy cars parked or looking for parking etc.
It was around 11pm and I was walking back to my parents car that I had borrowed (don't laugh....1994 Peugeot 405, 1.6L of French shit) and I turned a wide corner. Right there in glistening lights of central London....was parked a Delorean.
It blew me away. Mother fucker... amongst the old buildings, Mercs, BMW's etc. This son of a bitch stood out and just oozed fucking cool.. I knew it was a nice car, but I had no idea how good it looked when you placed it amongst everything else.

    No one caught my mistake.

    The 2000GT was a 2L inline 6, so therefore it’ll be inline 6 selection.

Edit. Didn’t even put V10. LFA.

Most of these are attainable by Beyonders so I think I have the best HP for the money. Is the 996 the most affordable 911?

Also, buying and maintaining are two different stories.
