Default Good Location for Photo Shoot

    Hi All,

I am looking for a location to have photos taken for a fleet of vehicles. I'd like to have downtown Calgary or the mountains as the back drop in the distance.

Was thinking Max Bell but time of day for shoot will mean sun is setting and in the background which could mess up the shot.

Need space for about 10 vehicles.

    All suggestions appreciated and welcomed.

    Thanks

If you get the angle right you can get the cars, Deerfoot, downtown and a hint of mountains.

I think this runs into the same issue that the max bell spot would, sun shining as the backdrop of the pic especially if it is afternoon/evening.

crescent heights wouldn't be too bad, or even somewhere out to the west facing into downtown might not be a bad idea. so many different places.

also as a side note possibly a parkade downtown (or sait) would easily have space for 10 cars...... to get decent pics of mountains as a backdrop i suggest Canmore or Banff or anywhere closer to the mountains than here.....

If your time of day means the sun is setting then there will be no location in or near Calgary that you can get the mountains as a distant backdrop without a setting sun messing things up.

As for getting the downtown in as a backdrop, the large surface lot on the south side of SAIT would give you what you need with ease.

Edit: rethought the sunset issue and the front parking loop at Robert Thirsk senior high school could work quite well - take a look see on Google Maps. At this time of year, the setting sun should still be far enough to the north that that location might work quite well as the loop is positioned such that you could get a nice mountain backdrop with vehicles parked in either direction.
