I used to run a 2x12" sub box and some cheap as hell massive amp in my first car, a Hyundai excel. Pulled the rear quarter windows out for a while one summer, and it felt pretty airy.

Army and Navy sold Jensen, Audiovox and LearJet as well. I still have bunch of pyramid stuff, it actually was decent for the price. Back in the early 90's I bought a Radio Shack 10" sub, and a friend of mine was helping build a box for it, we compared it to his Alpine sub and it was identical right down to the specs but was about 1/4 of the price.
Is anyone on here old enough to remember the car audio guys at the old crossroads flea market? Now that stuff was pure junk...Everything I bought there died a quick death.. I can't remember the brand they had.

Fuck am I ever drawing a blank here. Bazooka tubes, purple anodized amps, Urban (want to say Exp, but dont want any bad press to Bob's business). Urban something though... shit gear though.

bazooka tubes, knew a guy who installed them and it was pure junk
thread derail - I remember going into soundsaround and seeing one of the first plasma tv's going for something like $23,000

There were a lot of bad actors in the car audio world, the oem stock stuff got so good, a lot of them disappeared.
There was one prolific installer that would charge extra to hide the components, then a week later the same car would be broken into and stripped of its hidden parts.

While I was moving, I found this in my collectio, and brand new in box too.

Oh man, I miss how he referred to himself as a "Tacky Paki" lol. But no shit many years ago I was talking to some executive at Soundsaround and he said Feros sold more car audio than every other sales employee, selling not car audio, combined. He was fucking fantastic at his job and yea when OEM stock car audio got real good no wonder Soundsaround went out of business. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I wonder if he still has spinners on that accord?
