    Default China sonic weapon.

They are going to start calling it BrainMelter soon.

Personally, I think its a simple condenser reflector meant to introduce feedback to anyone using an amplified listening device, and not so much an Atreides sonic gun. Which is a heavy warning to all the spies out there.

spoiler alert for anyone who has not seen Dune "original"

I"m going to post things I've heard, these are my own opinions.

One of the last PMC companies I worked for gets a lot of embassy security contracts. I have friends and former coworkers who have been affected by this sonic system.

From what I've been told - and again, this is my own opinion based on what I've heard - it's actually not a system built as an offensive sonic weapon. It's in fact a surveillance technology, one we've had a long time which surpassed microwave surveillance systems well over a decade ago, and the Chinese and Russians copied it. They are now using it against our embassies in attempts to surveil the people and conversations going on inside. The physiologic affects happening to people inside are a side affect of the technology and how it works, and not the primary function. In fact it's a negative to knock those you're trying to listen to out of commission, if they are being sent home you can't really spy on them, right. Anyway, as I said, I have a couple friends that have been directly affected by this, and the effects are real, albeit an unintended consequence of sorts.
