It’s not like we could really expect more out of BC politics.

what's worse, an NDP majority, or an NDP minority propped up by the greens?
The latter by a country mile.

Even if BC Libs won, it's still far more left and green than AB NDP.

My experience is 20 years old , but the BC libs at the time were definitely NOT left or green of the Notley crew. Definitely more against unions and more in favour of corporations.

    Definitely this.
BC "Liberals" are not Liberals, at all. I don't think anyone could argue calling them Centre-Right.
They privatized liquor, I think eliminated some Crown Corporations, vilified teachers & unions, etc.
    NOT left wing stuff.

My impressions were correct - centre to centre-right.

    Shocking! My MLA remained NDP.

One of the big differences I noticed was how sleepy the campaigns are here. There were hardly any lawn signs on private property. What signs they had were mostly on public property.

I guess that's what it is like when you get to choose between Kodos and Kang.

I detest the BC NDP and I detest Horgan. But, he and his team have executed incredibly good strategy to keep BC going the way they want while paying lip service to the Greens and now completely fisting the Green Party by calling a snap election minutes after they selected Weaver's replacement (as Green leader).
    Cunning and calculated.

I didnt realize how badly Weaver threw the rest of the greens under the bus haha. Running as independent and endorsing Horgan.

That Furstenau chick must really be a loon.

Meanwhile, hoping all provincial funding across the cowichan valley dries up. Maybe they should reduce ferry service to the mainland to one terminal? Give the green voters what they asked for.

^He sat as an independent after resigning from Green; but, he didn't run at all in this election.

My bad; didn’t follow that closely and swore I read someone saying he ran.

Whats confusing is that some of the wealthiest areas in City of Vancouver (proper) went NDP again. Kengsinton and Point Grey. NDP votes used to mean low income areas.

Yes, I read an article discussing the slow shift left that BC has taken in the past decade or so. It's very odd but it's a strong trend. Oak Bay / Gordon Head should be another wealthy riding that was Green with Andrew Weaver and is now NDP. They're the only riding in BC that has put in SoCred, Liberal, Green and NDP members. I'm guessing that UVic is in that riding, so the students must be swinging it because Oak Bay is old money and lots of it.
The province seems to be happily swinging farther left. And there's lots of large residential and commercial construction going on in Sidney, for example. So areas of their economy seem to be moving forward. I think they're all still pooping directly in the ocean in Greater Victoria while they thumb their noses at us for our various enviro-trocities. So, that's nice.

He certainly did throw them under the bus, though!
