@mrsingh , how does it look after one winter, and how long did it take for them to do this?

I dont understand the dry ice thing for an everyday car that gets driven in winter. Why the hell do you want to remove the oem coating?
I've been following sublime for a few years, ever since I saw this before/after on an LX450
My buddy now has the $100k dry ice machine and tooling here in Calgary and is getting a similar business up and running, but is targeting classic cars/high value clients instead of daily drivers.
The goal (for me) is to remove as much visible rust to to improve resale and prevent corrosion from getting any worse and destroying the vehircle.

Honestly that is a good question, I have not had the car up on a lift since to take a look. I am going to get some suspension work done in the next couple months, so I will have a look then and snap some pictures. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
The whole process took about a day and a half.
Mine was a brand new car when it went to him, and I am pretty sure he did not use dry ice on it. The dry ice is used more to remove the old coatings on older vehicles that have already been through several winters. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
For anyone that's interested in the process of ice dry cleaning and restoration. There are 4 parts of this series.
so do you know if they coat it with different stuff after it's been dry iced?!This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
It is best to contact Ted over at Sublime Surfacing for the actual details, but I believe he is coating it with the wax after which is durable and supposed to repel the salt/water to prevent corrosion. It is part of what he calls his honeyseal process. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

would he consider daily drivers?
Honey, wax or Lanolin based ones, honestly doesn't matter much what product it is, they work and "should" last longer than the straight up oil ones. You can buy "honey goo" at places like Canadian tire if you want to DIY.
Any of these require reapplication. Some say annually, some say 2 years. I wouldn't trust anyone who claims more than that.

Sublime said in one of their IG comments 7-10 years.

That is why I wanted to see real life timeline. Would be cool to see year by year comparisons for someone who drives regularly all seasons (parks inside and/or outside), different environments, etc. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I think it is a great service to do for older cars that want to be preserved that mainly have just surface rust. The night and day difference on the work makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside.
@A2VR6 - My buddy Taylor said anyone interested in this service in Calgary should give him a shout. Business isn't setup yet (he's just been doing some family/friends vehicles) but he can point you in the right direction - Taylor @ 403 Eight-Oh-9-Three-9-9-Six

1249 for sublimes honeyseal, booking about a month out and needs the car for 2-3 days.
Sublime is a good price and appears to do excellent work.
Biggest PITA is getting the truck out there and getting back to Calgary...

Price is labour and vehicle dependent. Is it a truck or is it a car? Is it new, or has it been through several winters? Does it have a lot of underbody panels that need to be removed, or is there open access to everything?
I found Ted to be a straight forward guy, he was definitely passionate and a believer in his product and service, I was happy to deal with him. Mine was cheaper than above, but as I mentioned it was a brand new car, had less than 1000 kms driven on it from only a summer when I went to see him.
the price for the work is okay, issue is staying in Edmonton for 2-3 days
Definitely, I have a lot of family up there, so ended up going up on a Thursday night and crashing there over a weekend. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I wouldn't stay unless you had other business. Just drive back and forth. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
