Well imagine if instead of writing that letter to the editor, she just posts on a car forum for car enthusiasts. That's Kritafo.
Yet another reason to lease in Calgary!
In Calgary? Just saw Edmonton in the article (unless that's what's currently being used here?)This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Yeeep. Calgary too..
Are there any places in Calgary that apply the oil coating? Whenever I google it the closest I find is places in Manitoba and Ontario.
Did you look at Krown? They show two locations in Calgary. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Is there anything to be concerned about with the holes they drill into the body panels? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I haven’t used them myself so I can’t say for certain. With that said my dad bought a truck from a guy in his home town in Ontario that had an oil type treatment done to it. There are these little (1/4 inch?) black plastic plugs along top of the rocker panels/in the door jamb areas etc. where they drilled to spray the oil in. They seemed to be smart about where they place the holes, placing them in areas. that wouldn’t normally see a lot of spray from the road etc. There are no signs of corrosiond around the holes (or on any of the body panels for that matter)that I have noticed and the truck is a 2007 so I wouldn’t think you have much to worry about. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Thanks for the feedback @93-SR-V!
My Volvo is from Vancouver and has no rust on it whatsoever and our minivan we plan to keep for a long time. Hence looking at rust prevention solutions. Now that I know they’re in Calgary I’ll give them a call and find out more.
Much appreciated!
@mrsingh , did you end up going with a solution and any preference on which shop you went to?This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
It has been a busy week and I haven't gotten around to it yet, planning on getting it done to the vehicles closer to Sept/Oct. Was going to start calling around next week, will post what I find out! This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Is there a frame and driveline only solution? New 2018 Expedition is coming. All the body panels are aluminium. So not holes needed. Do I bother with the frame?

They'll skip the body holes if you ask, I believe.

Did not want to make a new thread, but wanted to see if anyone brought their car down to Edmonton and used Sublime Surfacing to do underbody protection?
Or does anyone know if anyone in Calgary that preps surfaces in a detailed manner before applying the coating? I am particularly interested in a service that uses a dry ice media blasting or equivalent to take off any dirt and surface rust, and then applying the Cosmoline or Honeyseal treatment.
Definitely not doing a Krown or similar type treatment so that is not what I am looking for here.
Thanks!
I had Sublime Surfacing do the honeyseal on my 2020 Lexus in September, was very happy with the service. Time will tell how it lasts, but seems very durable and I liked not having all that goopy tar underneath. I had the Krown treatment done to one of my other vehicles a few years back, and there was constant oil always dripping from panels onto my paint, I hated it.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. i came across sublime in the winter and was thinking of getting my car done. Started looking for Sublime last week and couldn't find it. Might be worthwhile to make a trip to Edmonton just to get this done.
Damn... I guess I may have to make a trip down to Edmonton one of these days.
I have attached some before and after pictures. He removed the majority of the underbody plastic panels and applied the wax to the car's metal body.
