    Default Home Audio Person

Does anyone on here have experience with home audio and entertainment equipment? long story short we had a company wire our new build and we would like to do most of the final connection and equipment purchase ourselves to save some money. If you would be willing to help me out please fire me a pm! I have a floorplan I could also send off.

What do you have in mind? Depending on what you want to do there are many different options and vendors.
    Give us some idea.

The home is wired and all connections are terminated at each tv area:
-4 audio zones (two Speakers at each location)
-4 audio keypad locations (wiring behind walls 2 cat6 and speaker wires)
-6 TV locations each have ( 3 cat6, 1 hdmi, 1 coax and an IR connection)

    The suggested system is:
    -Monitor audio in celling speakers
    -MCA-66 KIT - Russound 6 Source Audio Controller/Amplifier with 4 MCA-C6 Keypads
    -MX980 Remotes x2
    -MRF 350 x2
    -Component rack
    - 24 port patch panel
    -Xantech Flashers

the plan is house cable boxes/video equipment in the mechanical room and feed all the TV locations and Audio zones from there. Be able to watch up to 8 sources in 4 room locations.
With the Audio system it feeds up to 6 sources to your 4 audio locations. URC universal remotes would allow to control your TV’s, all sources and your Matrix. I don't disagree with the idea, just trying to save some money and source these items myself also a huge cost to get people out to the house since it is rural. One thing I did notice is there is nothing listed to control video equipment like a switch. hope this helps shed some light on what I am trying to do.

I would bet there's a lot cheaper / more layman way to get what you need without going to that extent.

Knowing me though, I'd probably end up setting up a system where I'm the only person that knows how to use it so I'm really not of much help, but nonetheless I'd be willing to help if you want

Please be sure to come back and update with how you did this!

I think Buster on here recommended these https://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=13683

I saved them to my bookmarks when he mentioned them. I ended up going with paradigm ones which are at your quote price range as the electrical company included install at that price.

I picked up a couple pairs of these and I was pretty impressed for the price.

I have 2, Interm QD-4480 quad power amps if you find you want more power for your zones. 120w x 4 8ohm, 240w x 2 bridged into 8ohm
They are 4ohm stable as well
    Machining, Fabricating, Welding etc.

Just out of curiosity, what would the benefits be of something like what you're doing, compared to something like Sonos? I ask because I feel like I would gravitate to your solution - but seeing some of the package deals Sonos has, and from what I hear about their ease of setup - seems appealing.

Price and integration. I have 3 zones in my house with a multizone amp and airport expresses to do airplay 2 to each zone. It's clean and effective and all controls are with your devices/smart assistants. A similar setup can be done with Chromecast audios as well.

To get individual zones with Sonos, you would need a Sonos amp for each zone if you want them to play different sources.

I personally think you would be better off just doing a Shield to every TV. Use Velcro tape and adhere it to the back of the TV

    Done!

On a similar note, does anyone know how to tune home audio properly? I just put it on ext stereo and leave it lol

Most modern amps come with a setup microphone to calibrate distances and delays. Ext stereo is not real surround sound as you're sending the same sound to each speaker. Put it on auto and it will typically put it into DTS/THX/PROLOGIC etc based on the source and content
