One thing i noticed is that he’s getting down and closing off the 5 hole faster. That was by far his biggest weakness.

I think if Smith can play somewhat reliably for half to a majority of the remaining games, this will give Rittich an opportunity to rest up leading into the playoffs cause he's been leaned on heavily this season. Rested Rittich and Smith having his game back will be huge for us in the playoffs. That'll be one less thing to worry about.

I don't think we need much going going into the post season. If anything, I'd like a playmaker for Neal and a veteran D. Neal's always been the sniper, so I think the one thing missing for him is that setup guy. He came into the season expecting to be playing with Mony and Johnny but never really got that opportunity with how well Lindholm fit in. And as decent as our defense has been, half the guys are young, I think under 21? Definitely need more experience on the blue line.

Gio is a beast. His compete level every single shift is awesome to watch. Luckily the Flames didn't trade him 2 years ago because 'his contract sucks'.
