October Vacation Ideas with a beach

Hello,

Looking to take my mom on a holiday in October. I want to try something different (no mexico, cuba etc). The main objective is hot weather, nice beaches, inexpensive food, and good site seeing.

What do you all suggest? Mom is a bit older so less walking the better...Greece is an option as well.

Cruises!!

Caribbean cruise are pretty cheap right now, especially for Oct. Easily <$1K per person (Cruise only) with the big ships like Oasis of the Seas.

Somewhere different - Check (3-4 different ports)
Hot weather - Check
Nice beaches - Check
inexpensive Food - Check ( all inclusive)
Good site seeing - Sure
Senior friendly- Check

i used cruisecompete.com to book my last cruise on the oasis of the seas. prices are in USD though, but I found the prices way cheaper than any travel agent in Canada. try to get a refundable rate, and keep checking the prices every month to see if it goes lower

Prices and perks differ between sites, so you'll have to check them all to get the best deal for that one cruise that you want to go on.

I usually start with cruisecritic to compare between 10 diff cruise booking sites, and usually have the best luck with Expedia, travelocity. Cruises.com and icruises.com . Booked about 13 so far and looking to book one for end of year to Greece.

Also sometimes it's worth calling to see what rate they have in the system and not available online. Last year I called travelocity to book this crazy deal of $599 for a western Mediterranean cruise with NCL I see online. Inside Room. On the phone the lady was like "oh interesting ... according to my system I can get you a balcony room for the same price!". Ended up being the highest balcony class room (aft facing on 13th floor with extra large balcony) for $599! And definitely not advertised on any sites I searched. Was a nice surprise to our pre-wedding trip
