I have no idea what the measurements are in the invoice. # of lights? But it's listed like this:

Trimlight System Installation of colour matched aluminum channel. Installation - 13mm pixel bulbs every 6", control panel (in garage if possible) and hard wiring to panel (through attic space if available).

    Front Roofline
    164 x $19.55 = $3,206.20

    Back Roofline
    41 x $19.55 = $801.55

    Left Roofline
    42 x $19.55 = $821.10

    Top front gable
    18 x $19.55 = $351.90

    Subtotal
    $5,180.75

    GST
    $259.04

    Total
    $5,439.79

I assume its by the foot. Gemstone was $20/ft (+10% discount) in 2018. Seems comparable.

Yea they usually price them out per linear foot plus a flat cost for the power/control box. I paid $21/ft in the spring of 2022 for gem stone

Mine included the control box I guess as part of the total cost. There was no line item for it, and says it's part of line 1 front roofline.

Seems like a pretty decent deal. It's the "discounted referral rate" from a neighbor that had theirs done.

Raj, do you have a website or email contact for the Trimlight Calgary dealer? I tried to submit a RFQ through their shitty website and it wouldn't go through, and the dealer locater doesn't actually have a website or email listed for the Calgary dealer.
    Gracias.

haha their communications was iffy, we weren't even sure if they were coming out yesterday. I'll check to see if I have a different contact, think it might've been thru text but yea, slow response.

No regrets on our gemstone setup. The app is cheesy but it's great not having to fuck around putting stuff up or down.

We were close to $7500 two years ago for our front and back with Gemstone, not looking forward to doing our new house when we move in August.

Definitely call around to the Gemstone dealers, I got 3 quotes from gemstone and they ranged from 7500-5000 if i recall right. Kinetic was the cheapest and they even gave me a discount because they couldnt install on the day booked

and I did not have the only say in the matter (most people just want it done ASAP and don't care about quality).

If anything we made a better decision because we had a consensus and were all on the same page.

For any of the light systems its best to try and get a reference from someone who used them before because the install quality varies pretty significantly. I've seen houses with their power cables ran across the shingles very visibly because it was the shortest path to the upper row of lights and I've also seen installs that are super clean where they took the extra minute to tuck everything.

I just went to check the install and ya, not a hint of a wire. It’s really clean.

Not sure if Curtis has a direct email but [email protected] is the one I got my quote from. Went ahead a paid my deposit for Trimlights today.

    Gemstones were $21/ft
    Trimlights were $20/ft
    Watts Lights were $19-20/ft

Gemstones has very average customer service. Their estimator didn't even ring the door bell to chat with me. Watts was okay, but I didn't like their product offering as much but the estimator seemed to know his stuff. Curtis was the easiest guy to work with and answered all the questions I had without any issues. Hopefully the installation goes smoothly, but I suspect if it's good enough for rage2 then it's good enough for the rest of us.
