Shit, I need to work on my negotiating skills lol. Mine is 300, Regular phone, Bluesky with 4 terminals and Large TV (12 packs) for 179/month
We literally just walked into the DT physical location and that was offers to us. There were no negotiations. The reason was loyalty and a good standing account. These are all "loyalty" prices as best I can tell and my entire family has been a Shaw customer since the day cable internet was offered in our area many, many years ago. If you've been with them for a while and pay your bills you can probably get a similar deal.

I have been for easily 15+ years. This was the deal I got from loyalty/rententions department over the phone. They have quite the complicated setup. So many different discounts and offers. Even when I was talking to the guy he was like.. "oh.. I can also tack on this other discount and change that to make it better". It seems it might have to do with who you get and how well they know all the stackable discounts or something. I'll give them a call and see if I can get someone who can do better than what I got. Thanks

They love their discounts, because they all eventually expire and revert to full retail price so you get to play their game every X months to keep your pricing down.

I went thru FB messenger and this is what they said:

Thanks! So if you did want to start a new 2-year agreement and upgrade to Internet 300, the month rate for the internet would be $90/month. You are also on an older cable plan for your Small TV package as well, so we would need to switch you to the current Small TV package, which is $52/month and you'd get to choose one more theme pack from these selections: https://www.shaw.ca/television/channels/theme-packs/ so your total monthly rate would be going from $129.90 to $142 per month, before tax.

Now if the internet can be had for $65 or 75 then the price will be lower than what I pay for the 150. Might have to phone in. Online chat had a 33 minute wait time when I checked the other day.

Finally called in, talked to a tier 1 rep who offered $96/month for 2 years, that's for Internet 150 + Personal TV Package I already have. Got transferred to Loyalty and the guy came back with $105/month for 2 years for Internet 150/TV

Finally settled on $100/month for Internet 300 + TV and that was good enough for me. Glad I was able to work out a price for 2 years so I don't have to deal with that 6 month promo bullshit.

Try fast.com (Netflix's speedtest). We're starting to see Ookla speed tests sites saturated and giving incorrect results.

    Fast showed me 300kbps.
I tried it on a laptop and it was much faster. Turned out it was the port on the (unmanaged) switch. Changed ports and that fixed it.

Just got mine installed. Getting about 150 - 200 mbps on my desktop computer (wireless), but around 320 mbps with speed test on my iPhone.

Got my bill on Aug 1 and noticed that they're charging me $10 as well... definitely not what the guy quoted me!

I'll have to call in again!

You won't lose the second IPv4 address, can confirm I have 2 off the XB6 (same ones as before).
Sorry to quote you again but looks like they've start charging for the 2nd IPv4!

I have a charge for $14.xx and $9.xx (switch from 150 to 300) on my bill. Would have been nice if they told me it was extra now...

Anyone else seeing these charges on their bills or I'm I just unlucky!!

I have the modem charge as well but there is another line item where it is taken off in the promotions section along with a bunch of other discounts that all expires in 2020.

No charge for second IP either on my latest bill.

Cool! Thanks! I only have a $10 credit on the bill for the $20 rental.

Is the second IP even listed? First time I've seen it and I don't know why the price is different between the months too!

They really should give you the option of buying the modem if you can't get it for fee... no way it's worth $480 after 2 years and on going!

Also anyone fill out the "Shaw Cares" survey they email you? I said I wanted them to contact me because the poor communication from them, it said they would in 2 days been over 2 weeks now....

Noticed today that on shaw open public that I could no longer connect to Netflix or Prime Video, they must have closed down streaming access that worked flawlessly for months. IPTV still works, but needed to VPN for the other services.

I streamed Netflix from Shaw open on the weekend. That is disappointing if it has been closed down.

I had everything installed yesterday and had some internet disconnect issues. I believe it was due to my router and a computer fighting for the one IP so I called and they added a second one at no charge.

On another note. Anyone that has moved from Gateway to Bluesky. What are your thoughts? I am extremely underwhelmed by Bluesky and it's features so far.

Thanks! I'll have to remember to give them a call tonight.

Ya, I don't find the Bluesky to be that impressive.... I do like that I can now pause and jump to another TV (I never had the Gateway system).

The menus look nice and I like that you can finally set it to see only the channels you pay for in the guide.

I do miss the jump forward button as I find I usually have to rewind after fast forwarding too far over commercials.

I find it annoying that even if you set it to save power it still doesn't shutdown for 2 to 3 hrs after you wanted it to be turned off (I turned the system light off too).

I've noticed that the system is something laggy and I wished it had other audio out options (optical or coaxial) that just the single HDMI.

Since it's still newish hopefully there's some more upgrades coming down the pipe for the system!
