Sister is looking for a new (or 1-2 year old vehicle)
Likes both the Rogue and CX5. Any opinions on either, owners that can chime in?

I'd rather have a cx5 over a rogue. Also, not sure but if the rogue has CVT I'd stay away from that
Rogue is an underpowered piece of shit that has a CVT which robs even more power, interior is shit too compared with CX5.
I'm just comparing the previous genes, I'm sure the new ones are just the same. I actually think the redesigned CX5 looks incredible... not too many CUVs that I stop and stare at in a TNT parking lot.
What about a CRV? They are the only ones putting a decent engine in that category of vehicle. I believe they offer more tech too.
Here is one glowing review:

She hates the look of the crv. I think she's leaning cx5 right now...

Jealous... the new ones look damn good.
If you guys are considering new, the RAV4s should go on clearance soon considering the new gen is coming out in the fall I believe.
Ive owned a Rogue -10 before and I have nothing bad to say about it. When it comes to aestetics of vehicles and everything else its "in the eyes of the beholder" so to speak...
Can we get comparable footage of a CX5 taking out a bus bench and a section of fence.
I think we need to compare both vehicles in a similar situation...

My wife and I are looking for our second vehicle and noticed that Sundrige Mazda had some 2016.5 CX-5 models for around 24000+gst. It doesn't seem that bad and might go and take a look this weekend for ourselves. I would like a 2018-2019 model but if I can get a decent deal why not.
What is the MSRP on those? That doesn't seem like much of a discount given that is is basically 3 years old and having god knows what done to it at the dealership over that time. If it's a loaded GT then maybe not as bad. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I've read on other boards Honda is having lots of issues with the 1.5T in the CRV. Something about fuel/oil dilution now and before it was a vibration issue they had. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I have a 17' CR-V which has the dilution issue, I'm not aware of the vibration problem however. Airdrie Honda changes my oil monthly at no charge due to the oil level rising about 0.5" above the full mark on the dipstick due to fuel collecting in the pan and mixing with the oil. Getting the dilution issue resolved is a top priority for Honda as the 1.5T is their 'bread & butter' engine in most markets now. I'm told Honda has a fix but have to get it all approved through the EPA/Transport Canada as it involves the fuel system. I know Airdrie Honda has replaced the cylinder head on at least one new CR-V due to the problem. My CR-V is leased so I really do not care as Honda will be getting it back in 3 years. I would be concerned if I owned it as there is some uncertainty as to the long term effects the problem will have on the internals with the already watery 0W-20 oil being diluted with raw gasoline and not protecting much. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. The new CR-V is a fantastic vehicle otherwise. I just returned from a 1300KM trip where my fuel economy averaged 6.8L/100KM in a variety of driving conditions.
