Default How many insurance claims have you made in your life?

Rage's newest thread, along with various other insurance threads about how people's claims were handled always makes me wonder... how many claims have you people made in your life? I've been insured on vehicles for 23 years, and home/house for 20 years now, and I've only had three (all auto, only one at-fault). It always shocks me when people talk about their numerous claims and having to deal with agents. Am I just a super lucky SOB and don't even know it?

Not just auto, but home. All claims, including at-fault, or not, floods, etc.

I've only made one claim. Vandalism downtown, smashed passenger window. All they took was jujubes and a couple of quarters

One claim in 8 years, not at fault, someone hit me while the car was parked.

    TD treated me great

It's not the size that matters, it's the taste it leaves in your mouth.

Two, one with TD and one with RBC. TD was amazing to deal with, RBC not so much.

I've had two, one single vehicle (icy road, my fault), one was hit and run while parked. Both handled by TD without much trouble.

Two on house, both for hail damage within one year of each other back an 2014, and one on car 25 years ago.

    2. Both not at fault.

1 was in at a red light, semi started going when it was red. Crushed my bumper/tailight and trunk in the 240sx in 2013.

2nd, was last month, car parked on street at work. Came out from my shift and trunk lid was dented in, tailight broken. No note, hit and run but several witnesses seen a City truck working behind my vehicle on the nearby fire hydrant

One hail claim on the house (roof, siding, gutters), and one hail claim on a vehicle. That's all I can recall.

I've had to go through other peoples' insurance twice, and coincidentally both times it was for exactly the same thing. Back at our old townhouse, the UPS driver left a package jammed between the front storm door and entry door on a windy day. Door couldn't latch, spent 6 hours or so being ripped open by wind. Wrecked the (brand new!) storm door and actually ripped the entry door frame in half where the cylinder was screwed in. Couldn't find anywhere in town that would fix the frame, so UPS's insurance ended up having to cover both a new storm door and a new entry door.

Now at our current house, last month FedEx did exactly the same thing with the package jammed between the doors in a windy day - wind destroyed the storm door but fortunately the entry door was fine so FedEx's insurance only had to pay for a new storm door.

Thirty nine years and counting of a combination of renters, homeowners and vehicle insurance with one company. Three hail claims for two homes, two of those claims within two months on the same home in the early 90's - just had got the original claim finished and not even a week late another hailstorm came through and destroyed our just replaced roof.

As for vehicles for the wife and I, thirteen vehicles over those thirty nine years and eleven claims - two at fault accidents, five not at fault, three hail, one vandalism. Only one of the accidents as bad enough to write off a vehicle and a lawsuit is pending on that one as my wife suffered injuries from which she will never fully recover from.
    Will fuck off, again.

Only one that I can recall - car was stolen and stripped. Total write-off.

Good riddance, that Honda Accord that I bought from Beyond was a piece of shit anyways with a bent frame.

Two claims - house and car for hail damage.

Got rear ended not a month after I got my car back. I could see the doof coming a mile away - he was looking at his phone the entire time.

Oh wait, one a long time ago. The rear bumper got torn off from some idiot at RCSS.

Wife has had one at fault and another not at fault, all were pretty decent to deal with..... StateFarm and Allstate.

7-9 team here. One at-fault claim when my wife hit someone on a snowy day (counting her claim since we are on same insurance) . One auto claim when someone hit me. Two weather related home claims and 4 weather related auto claims. Plus one trailer weather related property claim.

In my experience, auto claims are so easy compared to home claims.

3 x hail (1 for the house - specifically roof - and 2 for cars) on the same day!!! That was like a decade ago when we had that nasty hail storm that tore up the u of c

1 x house - damn poly b piping caused major leak, dining room ceiling caved in. We called a local plumber who turned out to be shady and cut up all our walls and ceilings in the entire house to try to 'diagnose' the leak. Asshole cut right to the seams/corners. Fortunately our insurance covered the damage from initial leak $3000 + his vandalism $5000.
