Default Has anybody tried Auto Rite German Auto Repair in NW Calgary??

    Hello Pals,
I am importing a 2003 Mercedes SL from Japan and I am supposed to receive the car in a couple of weeks.
I need to get an out of province inspection done before I can put a plate on this baby, but this being rather a special car, I can't take it walmart. There is shop near my place called Auto Rite German Automotive Repair in Arbour Lake NW Calgary http://www.germanautomotive.ca/
I wonder if anybody recommends them. Last thing I want is to get a $5k list of repairs that would not have been necessary.

I'd appreciate if you can provide a feedback!

    Cheers!

Well imagine if instead of writing that letter to the editor, she just posts on a car forum for car enthusiasts. That's Kritafo.

True... but if CT mechanic gives you a repair list of mechanical and electrical issues of a not-so-common german car, would you rather a CT mechanic do it or a german car mechanic?

I used them on a recent vehicle inspection for a car i was selling. They were great to deal with, and they were fair on the mechanical portion. I would go back there in a heartbeat if i owned anything german.

Tell us more about the car! There are some very cool R230's hanging around in Japan (I was very swayed by a widebody silver SL500 with the facelifted exterior and red interior)

If it's the same guys that ran AutoRite (the place that was there before), fuck them. Totally ripped me off on a brake job.

Go to Knibbe. I've had great success there.

Knibbe is great, but he told me to take it to Autorite! When did this happen? I think they changed ownership recently.

Neil, it’s a 2003 SL 350 with just 40 clicks on it. It’s not one of those super sexy ones that you mentioned. Here are some pix:Name: EBD47758-9CA2-49D3-B128-40256DF5971D.jpg

Had a decent chat with Blair up there today and booked a vehicle in for service. They are definitely NOT affiliated with AutoRite but kept the sign up for a bit for return customers. They definitely ARE affiliated with Knibbe.
