    Default Car washing

Does anyone know the policy of washing your car in your own drive way? I've heard there is a by-law in place that doesn't allow you to used soap in a residential area. You can only wash your car with soap in areas that have a specific drainage system. Most sewers are hooked up to your drinking water system and you need to filter the soap water first.

If this is true, then why does Crappy tire and other places stocked shelves and shelves full of car wash soap.

    Any ideas?

There's a by-law that says you can't use soap in your driveway, since the water runs into the storm sewer, and the storm sewer drains directly into the river.

However, they usually dont' enforce it, and you can get away with doing it as long as you don't have nosy neighbours who will call the cops on you.

oh, and in the future, do a search... this has been covered many times in the past
