Am just curious to see if you guys have a dashcam or not?
Yes
No

Have had one since late 2013.
I have 3, first one was from the original Blackvue group buy. Lots of footage and even a couple of court visits (boss paid me) to ensure a conviction of a total loser dirtbag.
Have had one for 3 years now. Thankfully, haven't had to use it but did come close a few times. It's cheap insurance, and also can provide funnies for bad drivers thread
got em in all my cars, even installed them for some family members, its a no brainer for me... one incident and it'll pay for its self 100x over

Holy shit yes, between catching cool things - catching idiots - catching collisions.... they should come as standard equipment. I have my DD equipped with DUAL cameras.
Yes, two vehicles for about 6 years now and also use one for traveling with rental vehicles.
Nope, the one vehicle I had that had one was rolled by another driver but never checked the footage.
I've had a cheapie G1WC for driving around recording but got hit and run while my car was parked on street at work last month that resulted in a $4500 bodyshop repair so now I have a front/rear parking mode cam Thinkware F770

Well imagine if instead of writing that letter to the editor, she just posts on a car forum for car enthusiasts. That's Kritafo.
I got one in 2013 when a idiot driver on DF was in a super rush to get that one ahead. Problem was... it was rush hour. Your not going anywhere really. He nearly ran me off the road.
After I was like fuck this. So I got the G1WC too. Ive had several near misses with drivers cutting lanes and cutting my braking distance.
A friend also bought one after having a Jeep rollback into them and my friends deemed at fault. Even though it was not.
I would say its a good investment.

Had one from the second group buy but it was recently jacked... time for a new one butnive been too cheap to replace it.
Got my first one in 2009, $50 from China Buy, 720p... saved me $1400 when someone backed into me and tried to blame me. Now I have one in front and one in the back. Both are Autobot from Aliexpress, two different models. As a side note I also have two on my bicycle.
Started taking dashcam videos back in 2009 using an iPhone 3GS attached to an RAM mount. First used the native app, then some apps came out the blanked out your the display and also could render Google map overlays on the video along with speed. Was pretty slick. When I play back some of my older videos the quality is so horrible LOL, especially when I used an external lens to get a wider field of view.
Then moved on to a iPhone 4S before finally getting a real dashcam, the B40/A118 as the RAM mount really gets in the way when in the middle of the dash and the phone kept overheating on hot days. Now rocking the Aukey DR02 2-channel cam which is a good bare bones one, just wish there was a easier workflow to get a PIP video generated with the rear cam.

This is the one I use.

Since 2013, yup! Started with a cheap ebay one back then, eventually to a Mini 0802, and now currently the Blackvue DR750S-2CH, and I have a DR900S-2CH waiting to get installed!
Had a bunch of blackviews in previous vehicles (including twin_cam_turbo's rolled car that used to be mine)
Never got around to installing one in the GTI, which I should, and I have one in the summer car, and I don't have one in the project.
So 1/3 of my vehicles currently have dash cams, and I really should pick one up for the GTI.

I don't have one but I've been meaning to pick up a couple. I've just always had bad luck with things drawing on the battery and coming back to a dead vehicle so I have been leary about it. If you don't mind me interjecting, what is everyone running for cameras?

I wouldn't worry too much about it drawing power. You put it on a switched power circuit and it turns off when the circuit turns off.
I tend to buy just cheap eBay cameras. Maybe that's why I go through about one every year as they break down.
Best suggestion I could give to people is to hard-wire it in. Usually an overhead console will have a switched power source you can draw from, or you can draw it down the a-pillar to the fuse box and use a tap if you want it protected. This is a lot better than having an outlet used up and/or a cord dangling from your rear view area.
