I may be able to overtake you on a bike but on a hike, your stamina is much betterThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
how do you get to devil thumbs, i take the trail is from the beehive?
Yep exactly! Go passed the tea house to the back of the lake, go up the switchbacks and instead of going left to Big Beehive, go right. There's a bit of scrambling/climbing and then you end up going on the side where Lake Louise is for awhile then come to an avalanche shoot. This part is a slog and kinda dicey but nothing crazy honestly. Then it's meandering through the various paths to the summit.
I'd honestly like to get up there for sunset/sunrise shots but the lighting angle/timing is tricky -- I'd totally be game to do it again. Middle of the day was obviously not ideal but worked out alright after some PP...plus we had apple crumble for lunch

Some awesome airshow stuff there Steve, just saw the RIAT set.
Here's some from Cold Lake this year:

Someday we may need to activate the halo structure off Deerfoot and destroy the North East.
Thanks, I'm still not done the shots from Air Tattoo and I'm heading back to Europe this week for 2 more weeks. Just for some touristy stuff this time though, no airshow. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Good mix from Cold Lake. Abbotsford suffered some late cancellations that really hurt the lineup. German A400 turned around and went home, Oregon F-15's were a no show. Then the Dragon Rapide crashed on Saturday night after the show ended.
