Thats a lie. We have ability. But due to poorly funded medical system we have long wait times for electives, leaving people uncomfortable or in minor pain.

Not a huge sample size, but I know two separate people who got terminal illness diagnosis' in Canada after multiple medical opinions and exhausting all local options known to them. In both cases, they ended up at the Mayo clinic, paid a ton of money, and are now 100% cleared. They literally would not be alive if they stayed within the Canadian healthcare system.

My workplace offers a plan where for a small monthly premium, it covers me for up to $2M at the Mayo clinic if I ever get a serious injury or illness - those two events are why I decided to enroll, and hopefully I never need it.

Mayo clinic is more representative of Canadian Healthcare then American
It is a totally non profit academic research based institution. Number 1 hospital in America.

They specialize in difficult cases. You would be in good hands there.

We have equal or better results on average then America. But we spend less. Not only does our government spend less per person then the American government. On top of what the american government spends, private insurance is on top of that.

Both my kids and I have all used the Japanese health care system, I can report that emergency room visits were extremely quick, efficient, and low cost even paying out of pocket as a non resident. The doctor himself fills the required prescriptions right in the clinic. We were there less than an hour for the visits, and diagnostics are done on the spot. The biggest shock was the free parking.
