    Default Opinions on 2010ish GLKs

They seem to fly off kijiji on the used market... looking for opinions mainly in relation to reliability. Looked at one today up close and love the look of it. Can't find any major problems on the internet and the consensus seems to be that they are super reliable?

I'd be looking for a 2010 with higher km, but under 200,000... the one I liked at today was 220,000km priced at $10,800 but it needed tires and a new windshield...

The seller double booked and since I wasn't that interested I went home without a test drive... how's the fun factor? Gas mileage okay?

Gas I can deal with, I'm buying it as a camping vehicle as well as for snow days, any common problems though, can't seem to find anything online which means there can't be that much...

Popular car for the soccer mom/middle aged women. Usually a buy for the wife kind of car

Well imagine if instead of writing that letter to the editor, she just posts on a car forum for car enthusiasts. That's Kritafo.

Haha ya I know its kind of a chick car but I really don't get it, I love the straight lines of the car, looks like a small long version of the G class...power is decent, the interior isn't very feminine, looks industrial really...

I bought my wife one last year, it's a 2010 with 115,000kms, solid vehicle, no real issues so far and although it's not the best on gas, it's fun to drive and great on the highway and snow.

Curious to know what gas mileage is considered bad...I keep reading about 13l/100km?!

Edit: got 15l/100km on the Industry Canada site, not too bad, I've had worse...but like I said, I won't be a daily driver, in the summer it'll be a highway driver, in the winter it'll be on snow days (I plan to buy a good set of winters for my Z)...

Seriously?? What year??? I've own Pathfinders in the past and they've all been around this kind of mileage, two 98's and a 2006, hell my 03 Murano was bad, my 09 Murano was only a bit better...

Are you talking in the city or on the highway? I don't believe it lol

Bought my wife a 2010 GLK in 2012 with 45,000 km. It currently has 295,000 km and no major issues...just regular maintenance. Her driving is mostly highway...I think the long term average is around 9.5L/100 km.

It still drives really nice and feels much newer than a vehicle with almost 300,000 km.

Wow, nice.... good to know someone actually has one with 300,000km on it.

I seriously like cars that look a little quirky. I've read the Audi Q5 is better in every way but that thing seriously looks like a jelly bean. My other option is an X1 first gen but I've read they are pieces of junk in terms of reliability.

I basically want a tall wagon type vehicle for all my practical needs that I still really like and enjoy, which is why I'm not looking at Subaru Foresters.

EPA rating is 14.7L/100km city and 11.2L/100kms highway. Any time I drive my dad's I can manage between 11-12L/100 kms. Feels extremely solid and it's amazing in winter with snow tires on it.

All of these vehicles you listed are notorious for awful mpg relative to performance, how you don't know this...

It's one of the biggest arguments against 1/4 ton trucks (like the Frontier and Tacoma) and most japanese SUVs/trucks, they get awful mpg relative to what you can do with them. I can assure you, my duramax's worst mpg unloaded is 15L/100km.

I drove it this morning...long term fuel economy reading is 9.8L/100 km but that is 95%+ highway. I did calcs when we first got it and the display was pretty close. So decent mileage is possible (as long is you don’t live in the city!!).

    Only real downsides have been:
    - windshield is pretty vertical so it doesn’t seem to go long without cracks. It’s $400-500 to replace.
    - with the leatherette, the driver’s seat cracks along the seams. I’ve seen a few like this, not sure if they were all leatherette or some were leather. For the leatherette seat, it’s about $300 to fix.
    - rear auto hatch on ours only works intermittently. Took it to the dealer before warranty was up but they claimed it wouldn’t do it. I haven’t looked into fixing it because it really hasn’t been an issue for us.

What kind of vehicles can someone like you realistically fit in the back of anyways lol...I fucking hate full size SUVs and I'm definitely not a truck guy either, plus we don't have kids.
