    Default how long does it take for an air filter on a Honda Civic SI turn from yellow togreen

    I bought this car 1 yr. 2 mth. ago. At the time, the salesman assures me everything is new, for e.g., fresh gear & motor oil, fresh anti-freeze, brand new battery and brand new air filter.

    Yesterday, when I get a mechanic to change the motor oil, we notice the bottom part of the air filter is totally green. Now, my first 2 car was both toyota, and the filter got dirty and change color to grey from white. This filter is brand new yellow as the original color, but now green. I have never seen a filter changed color to green.

    Regardless, I couldn't help but wonder it has never been changed in the past 8 year. Can an air filter get so dirty from yellow to green? as I only drove 11K km in the past 1 yr. & 2 mth. And how comes it turns green?
