That dude in the green van must have had to replace his seat bottom.
Also, some witnesses are claiming lightning to have struck the bridge right before the collapse.
The 4 stay design apparently offered no safeguards against one stay being weakened somehow, but I doubt lightning alone (unless it was a super bolt) could have caused this.
