Last week she got an email from our adjuster saying that the insurance companies will no longer offer section 3 coverage for anyone who has a distracted driving ticket for up to 3 years. Is this true? Sounds like bullshit, the rest of her driving record has been clear for nearly 20 years..
It sounds like the underwriters didn't pull an abstract on her for a few renewals (pretty common practices TBH) and for whatever reason they did this time around. Most insurance companies rate distracted driving in the same category as driving without due care & attention or careless driving (not impaired as someone suggested).
