    Default Working at a restaurant...

Some days I find it easier to pick up my laptop and sit at Earls, or another restaurant to get work done without people coming into my office and distracting the work i'm on...

I am getting bored of the same old... Where do you find the best place to work - away from work?

    My go to's have been:
    - DT Fairmont hotel lounge
    - Earls lounge
    - Cactus bar top

I've done this, and I find I can't get more than an hour of solid work done in a restaurant before getting distracted.

Chain restaurants have the best wifi usually.

You realize you are talking to the guy who made his own furniture out of salad bowls right?

    misleading thread title

I work from home when trying to avoid distractions. usually from 8-11 pm is when I find I can be the most productive.

I work from home to get away from distraction as well, but not during work hours. I still head down to the office from 8-5, but if there's stuff I absolutely need to focus on I do it at home at night, which is around now... which is why I'm still up and replying to this thread. It's 1:18 am and I'm building a forecast model (by choice of course). Rather do it now when everyone is asleep than tomorrow at the office.

Mostly in the evenings when I needed to focus and didn't want to head home yet, I would either do Fairmont or Hyatt.

I find hotel bars to be the best cause you have decent internet and lots of business travelers doing the same thing anyways.

Hotel bars are fun to drink alone at too. Always a varied crowd.

99% of my team is not physically in my office, so I can work anywhere. Definitely less distractions outside of the office, but it's nice to be physically around when issues arise so I can have face to face time with tech teams.

With that said, being an Arbour Lake resident, I do enjoy working out on the lake on the beach on Fridays, but it's been a while since I've done it.

I know some people who frequent the Met downtown and do some work.

When I work remotely in Charlotte I always go to a Starbucks downtown. Great scenery that sometimes can be a bit too distracting. lol
