What are your adjusted productive daily hours?
At-desk distractions are a net positive relative to non-at-desk distractions.

    Beyond increases my productivity.

Right. Plus right when you started posting more frequently that's when you moved into your mansion, got your AMG etc. haha

I feel I have a decent weekly, work-life balance. Better than most, and compensated quite well too. (not like some of the beyond ballers though )

It's getting away for most vacations, that I find I'm still checking my email and following up with clients.

No doubt, the ability to work remotely very easily has killed most of my weekends and holidays.

Used to work for Nova Scotia Power. Best shift schedule Ive ever had
    4 on (D, D, N, N)
    6 off
Ended up being a 35h work week. Felt like I was in Europe or something. Sometimes I think coming out here for the $$ wasn't really worth it.

Sometimes you do think it was worth it then? In what way(s)?

Any shift that is half days and half nights is absolutely the worst.

Why can’t it be 4 days, 6 off and 4 nights.

That’s a given. Was hoping more than just that but to each their own.

Doubled my income, less tax out here, and the plants in NS are all on their last legs for the most part. I'm still in my late-20s so I wasn't going to be able to make a life-long career out of it. I worked with a few guys who came out here for 15-20 years, then went back to NS to finish off their career and get a nice cushy pension to top it off. I was a little jealous of them.

I agree, but going from days to nights wasn't so bad, considering after the 2nd day shift you just stay up late after work, sleep in the next day, then go to work that evening. This was in Halifax though, when I worked in Sydney it was N, N, D, D. That first day shift sucked because I could never get to sleep early

Depends I suppose. In office hours range from 6 to 14 but almost always, including vacations, answering phones/emails. Ideally within another 5 years those numbers will cut in half. Some of it is my fault for being a bit of a control freak but, it's necessary. Soon though, we hope to have a model in place where we can hire people smarter than me (really though, how hard can THAT be haha)who I can release reigns too. I'll just have to work on my trust issues.....
