The only people who would go would be people from Airdrie on the way home. No matter how cheap the groceries are, I can't see winning on the trade off of the gas expense to get there. Even from the far NE of Calgary.
Also, there is already a Costco in the area.

Yeah well I wonder how they get the soft flowing caramel inside the Caramilk bar but you don't see me making a god damn thread about it. Slap your wife Baygirl, straighten him out.

Because instead of a company building a mall and renting out it's spaces (including at least one anchor store), they sold 95% of each individual space to asian investors, and didn't bother with the anchor store. It worked in Toronto apparently, but that one was also built in a good area. Not in the middle of nowhere, right next to an existing mall.

Not having an anchor store has killed pretty much every mall in existence.

Let's try in BalzSack right next to a monstrous mall! Who granted a loan for this sound biz plan and how do I sell all my stock in this lender?

And yet people will go out of their way and incur extra gas expenses to get groceries at a Costco.
    Will fuck off, again.

Costco is far different than some no name grocery store chained to a shitty mall with barely any stores open in it.

Think there'd be any food places open in the evening? Might go check it out.

They don't allow wet food on the main floor and I don't think anyone moved into the food court yet.

Not sure what constitutes "wet food" but I'm guessing it includes everything I'd want to eat for supper. Maybe I'll bring my own subway?

A mall that doesn't allow food in the shopping area... now I've heard of everything.

On Sunday it looked like all the shop owners were gathered in the food court to elect board members to represent them against management. Sure seemed like a lot of pissed off people.

Some of the nomination speeches were .... interesting ... as people were introducing themselves as owning millions of dollars of property across Canada, US and internationally. Not quite sure i believe them.

Went there last night around 6 PM. Took subway. Here's my impressions:
    - Most new malls have comfortable places to sit and want to make you feel welcome in the public areas. Zero effort has gone into this in this mall.
    - No free wifi from Shaw, Telus or the mall owners. This is also unusual.
    - Were a total of 40 vehicles in the west, east and underground parking areas combined. I estimate there were more than 20 people working between store owners, security and cleaners, so that's not many customers.
    - Heated underground parking is a nice bonus.
    - Many of the empty stores have these "sample" displays, which strike me a funny.
    - One restaurant in food court was open. Two more look like they will be mechanically complete within a month. Not sure if they will actually open them. Ice Cream place on main floor was open too.
Rustic furniture store and Board Game stores both looked pretty nice. See pics.

    I was wondering:
    1) How you took the train there
    2) Who in Calgary calls it a subway?

Then I understood. You brought Subway subs.

There's only the bathroom in the basement right?

There were minimum of three security guards around, but none wandered past while I was eating.

It was so spooky there. It's like what the world will feel like after the next plague. Had to go to crossiron to reassure myself that society still existed. Crossiron was packed as always.
