It's not really. The amount of desperate shop operators with the "please buy something for us" look is quite depressing as you walk thru. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I had one of those as a kid. Never had a track to race it on, didn't even know that was a thingThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Never really knew anybody that had their own tracks. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Only tracks I've seen growing up are at malls or competitions.

Pretty sure this is the one I had:This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Man, I had so much fun with that thing. Just spent the last 1/2 hour on ebay, ordered a few for my kids and one for me.
I had this one but I never put on the stickers. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I have two other ones I have kicking around somewhere collecting dust.
let me know when you get a track, I'll come by for a raceThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
unfortunately I dont have side bearings though.
Funny how there were different engines too and performance could vary depending on the batteries.
Have these on my display booth
I had a Mini Z a long time ago, then got a Mini-Z monster and upgraded that a ton. That must have been sometime in the early 2000s, and I think the Monster came out sometime in 04/05.
I also had an Epoch 1/43 Indoor Racer!
But it all started with a 1/64 Tomy Bit Char G. I wish I could get another one, or wish TOMY still made them.
The only thing I didn't have but wish I did was a Digi-Q. It was a fully proportional 1/64 RC.
Went to check out new horizon mall today, dead as fuck. Parking lot facing the highway had 2 cars total. Lot on the other side had maybe 30 cars. I don't know how they plan making this place successful.
Stores are all stores selling/reselling junk and other miscellaneous items. Can't say i'm disappointed as I knew what to expect with all the comments in this thread, but still can't help to be disappointed walking in and seeing so many empty stores. Reminded me of northland mall.

How many stores are open there now? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Can't give an exact number, but most of main floor had more empty's than full stores. We didn't even go upstairs but it looked like a ghost town from what we can see from below.
This map will give you a good idea:

I really can't think of a mall that has failed this hard. But why?
Ultracrepidarian
Eau Claire is pretty bad. Not as bad as New Horizon right now, but I could see if NHM picks up in the next decade and Eau Claire is still the same, then NHM won't be the worst anymore.
Because instead of a company building a mall and renting out it's spaces (including at least one anchor store), they sold 95% of each individual space to asian investors, and didn't bother with the anchor store. It worked in Toronto apparently, but that one was also built in a good area. Not in the middle of nowhere, right next to an existing mall. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Not having an anchor store has killed pretty much every mall in existence.
This mall just reeks of offshore/Asian money laundering/sheltering etc. No other reason to sit on a losing position for this long - tax writeoffs.
EDIT - from looking at some of the kijiji listings - some are claming that a new grocery store (25,000 sqft) is supposed to open in a few months ....

The stores there, like I mentioned in my earlier post....are just shit stores selling....shit at an inflated price.

The only people who would go would be people from Airdrie on the way home. No matter how cheap the groceries are, I can't see winning on the trade off of the gas expense to get there. Even from the far NE of Calgary. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

I'm probably in THE most ideal spot to take advantage of this (SW Airdrie, right off of 8th st)....but with a Save On Foods in my area it would have to be a smoking deal to go to a mall for groceries. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
And theres a costco there, so no way they're going to be beating that for groceries..This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
