Anyone done this vs. painting?
Where should I go? Shops aren't exactly clamouring for a small project like this to powdercoat.
Thanks.

I've used Silverline in Airdrie a few times...but mainly for wheels. and they did a Valve Cover for me once....
Maybe they would take on a frame??....
...@therealarifjina...
Bring back plastidip?
I'l give silverline a call.
I have had Calgary Powder Coatings do two frames and one fork. One frame they did a really good job and masked off everything I asked for. The second frame and fork, they did not mask off everything properly and they sandblasted the fork steer tube, which I requested they not do. The lack of masking added a couple of hours to assembly time as I had to cut the powder out of the head tube, bb shell, seat tube, brake mounts and steer tube crown. The sand blasting on the steer tube meant that the bearing race is not a press fit anymore and I had to lock tight it in place (it still spins fine and the headset stays tight but had it been any worse a rare fork would have been ruined).
I think Top Gun will also do bike parts and they do much smaller runs of things than CPC so I am planning on trying them next time.
Does Calgary Powder Coatings they have a large selection of colors?
I recall that Top Gun didn't have a large selection when I was powdercoating car parts but that could have been their high heat color chart. I forget.
They don't have a huge selection. Stuff like metallic (metal flake or gold/silver/copper/chrome), transparent or candy, base/clear, matte they don't have. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Rite-Way seems to have a large selection, and with some of those higher end effects you need somebody with experience in applying them or they can turn out pretty bad. Some times things like metal flake needs a clear top coat applied while the base and flake is still liquid so it takes some knowledge and skill to do that without smudging or smearing something and ruining the effect. If they are only used to coating a whole rack of parts, rolling it in and rolling in out of the oven then they will have a hard time with custom masked parts and multi-layer coatings.
EDIT: Rite-Way's website shows them masking intake manifolds and shows already sprayed auto suspension/chassis parts. These parts take a lot of prep work so if they are confident in doing those, they should be able to do a frame and fork and small parts as well.
