2019 KTM 690SMCR looks rad, we will see if it makes it to Canada.

Disappointed that they didn't use the Duke display, and instead have basically made an orange and black 701. Gets tcs, cornering abs and quickshifter, which aside the quickshift are all features I would disable on a daily basis.

Really interested to see if a 790SMR is in the works. Still on the lookout for a 990SMR but they always seem to pop up out east.

    ^ Yah that is sweet.

I thought I updated this thread but I guess not.

I went into the dealer here in RD earlier this month to see if they had any word on discounts for the 2018 701SM. At the time they didn't but told me to come back after the motorcycle shows were over. If I were to buy a 2018 right now, the price was $13700 or somewhere around there. He didn't have a price on a 2019, I'm assuming mid $14's. There were already two people who came in earlier that day and put deposits down.

I asked again about consigning my current '14 CBR1000 to them to sell. They said the highest they'd price it at was $8300 and that was for clean, mint condition. They take a $500 finders fee after the sale. Sounded as if they wouldn't take it on if I wanted more.

I found this bike on kijiji. Mine is the exact same just with a tiny bit less km on the odo. They want $11k. I think that's a bit much but I dunno.

I think selling my CBR is going to be a nightmare.

    Bought one!

Long story short... none in central Alberta. Dealership tracked one down in Cochrane. It was the only one they could find. Went down today and bought it. Seems there's no other ones available?

Anyway, I'm extremely happy with it! Can't wait for the snow to melt! Going to start lining up the aftermarket mods now.

I have taken the bike out for a few rips, couple hours on it at most. The bike is tons of fun! Going to get me in trouble with law enforcement haha.

Have to wait for a bit yet until the streets are swept to really dig into the corners. I have to get back used to this riding position.. I keep on wanting to put my feet where there are no pegs.

    Hey zip,

No mechanical mods done yet. I'm waiting until after the break-in period. I've just done the typical cosmetic mods so far.... fender eliminator and mirrors. I will start collecting the mods and get them ready for for install soon tho. Pretty easy bike to work on.

Did you deal with Jay? How much did you end up paying? He told me 13.5 OTD when I checked them out in late August.

Dealt with Matt. IIRC, upper 12's.

On another note, does anyone know which relay to get to solve the hyper flash after a FE install? I have normal bulbs up front, rear LED in the rear. Hyper flash was expected but I don't know if the relay is two or three prong. I'm not near the bike for a few more days to take a look.

Anyone else switch out the relay? Point me in the right direction?

It's behind the headlight mask (obviously).

I bought the OEM LED kit from KTM Versand and it came with everything.

    Here's instructions:

    Here's the kit I bought:

Damn, I was hoping I could just take the seat off and simply unplug the relay and plug the new relay in haha

FYI: After some research and help on another forum, I found the perfect solution regarding the hyper flash.

I tracked down an LED relay from CustomLED.com. It was direct plug and play. A beautiful thing indeed. Supposed to work for a variety of models.

Got the Wings exhaust installed today. Quick and simple. Next up will be the Rottweiler air intake and PCV.

Wasn't a question of if, but a question of when... My clutch slave cylinder failed today in downtown Red Deer. Pretty damn sketchy to ride a bike with zero clutch control. The only way to stop is to hold the brakes until the bike stalls or shut it off manually. Getting going again sure was an interesting endeavor. Trying to get home was god awful experience at red lights with heavy traffic but I managed to make it.

Just got off the phone with Cycle Works and it's covered under warranty but I really don't want another Magura unit on this bike. These slave cylinders are failing like crazy. Lots of people on the forums and youtube have the exact same issue.

Any other 701SM owners using a fueling dongle with their Power Commander 5? I just installed my Rottweiler Air Intake along with a PCV. The PCV is mapped for my intake and Wings exhaust.

Trying to figure out if the fueling dongle is really required.

Where'd you buy the Rottweiler and PCV? I was gonna get a bunch of goodies (including rottweiler intake) from aomc.mx on Black Friday - they usually do a 20% sale.

I got them as a package deal from Rottweiler. Going to do the fueling dongle this winter as well.

Here is a pic of my recent PCV and Rottie Air Intake install. The fueling dongle is on the way. Should be here this week.

Fueling dongle is now installed. Simple plug and play set up. That should be the last piece of the puzzle. The ECU will not fight with the fuel/air map from the PCV now.

Oil change in the spring and we should be ready to rock for more tickets from overzealous school bus drivers.

The fuel dongle eliminates the o2 sensor - have you considered getting powercommander autotune to use a wideband with your PCV?
