Edit - Max squeezed. Unless bottas went off onto the curb, there was no room. Vettel’s interview is terrible, says Lewis gave him no room. Lewis was hugging the right of the corner.

I don't get how max gets two points for that. He got the 5 s which seemed like enough. Remember the week before hulkenberg got 3 points for that collision.
Vettel likely ruined his chances of winning this season based on trying to outrace kimi and driving into lewis. Could have held that line himself behind kimi. Didn't need to happen and having only one car up there killed kimi's race with that pit strategy.

You get both a penalty and points. Hulkenberg got 3 points and a 10 place grid drop for Monza. The penalty points system is just to keep track of offenses regardless of penalties to punish repeat offenders. Nobody is even close to the 12 points needed for a suspension, it’s a joke of a system.

Depending on how hard Seb complains about Monza, I think this is the nail in the coffin for Kimi at Ferrari. Might have been different if he had won, but arguably his 1st job is to help Seb win. Rumour is that it was decided before Monza, but I'd expect the LeClerc announcement soon.

What's there to complain about? It's not like Kimi was overly aggressive against Vettel in the first lap. This was purely the Ferrari strategists fault, and even though they were completely incompetent with Kimi, they wouldn't be stupid enough to plan a position switch between Kimi and Vettel on the first lap because it'll open up an opportunity for the cars behind.

Kimi got completely fucked by Ferrari strategy. Mercedes goes for the undercut, Ferrari calls in Kimi in to cover the undercut which would've worked if they actually had tested the Soft tires. They didn't test the softs all weekend and went into the 2nd stint completely blind. Even if Kimi didn't have to drive balls out to keep Hamilton behind to make their undercut work, Vettel's stint showed that Ferrari could barely do 30 laps on those tires. There was no way Kimi was going to do both, keep ahead of Hamilton and make it last till race end. By the end of the race, the tires were so done Kimi was unlapped by a fucking Williams.

Would've been interesting if Ferrari didn't worry about the undercut and Hamilton pitted early if Mercedes would've made those softs last as they prepped for that scenario.
