Folding OLED screen ..... 2019?

I already use a 8 inch tablet as a phone, so it would be nice to go back down to a 5-6" model that could be doubled in size when using emails, web, etc.

I wouldnt care if it was a physical split screen or if the device is heavier.

Will this be the next tech revolution like touch screen was?

I rather see 5.5" folds down to a 4" phone in pocket than a 6" phone fold out to a 8" tablet.

The only reason 5.5" (or 6" with 18:9 ratio) exists only for a comfortable on screen keyboard size for most people.

And none of the demo seem to about to do a 180 degree fold onto itself. It's always folder outward. I would assume whoever figure this out will probably fold with the hinge mechanism like the Surface Book.

LOL yea that phablet picture about sums up my time on the phone.... however I tend to use the speaker a lot.

I do see this creating more demand for devices again - as most of the developed world is phone-saturated now anyway.

The "hard" devices that we have now might end up more soft and squishy (to a point) if the flex technology gains traction. No more cracked phones.

Oh man I have been following this story for a long time. Hopefully we get something like that soon.

Here we are in 2018 and in China they've been in 2038 since a couple years looks like.
