Default Best free VPN or, if not free, inexpensive quality VPN for the price?

    hi all,

looking at VPN options, not afraid of paying for it if need be

having trouble separating the wheat from the chaff with reviews, etc. gets conflicting and confusing.

who are you using, and why?

What are you looking to accomplish with the VPN?

At home, I've setup OpenVPN Access-Server on a VM Unix server so that I can access my Home LAN securely and route all my network traffic through it (watch Shaw FreeRange and Netflix Canada from anywhere in the world)

I'm also currently subscribed with TorGuard (thanks to a beyonder that recommended it previously) as they have multiple VPN servers across the world BUT if you want to stream, you'll have to pay an additional cost per country.
Right now I have a static Japan IP subscription and can access Netflix Japan.
Primarily though, I subscribed to TorGuard so that I can VPN to Thailand and have Offline Youtube mode.
Not sure if still applicable but you can get Torguard for half the price with a promo code

EDIT: both solution works a computer or mobile devices as well (IOS for sure, not sure android)

I also use Torguard. Try the promo code "blackfriday"
Don't know if it still works or not but its a lifetime 50% discount. I use it for my US netflix and it's been rock solid

    64% off PIA

I don't think you can go wrong for $2.50/month!

PIA, Nord, or Astrill. If you want access to the worldwide Netflix catalogue, you'll find that every ISP has servers/countries that don't work and have been shut down by Netflix. You need to have overlap if that's the case. If you just want a decently fast VPN for other things, Tor, PIA, Nord or Astrill will all work.

Any new recommendations? I re-installed Exodus and subscribed to Real Debrid and NordVPN. It looks like it's going to be a good setup, but NordVPN seems to really be slowing me down.

They say I should be expecting a 30% slowdown, but my pre-VPN speeds are in the 183/16.4 range, it whittles down significantly to 35/14 - a lot more than the advertised 30% slowdown.
