Looking at getting Hakkapelitta 10 studded for the truck. Last night I was able to score a set of 20" ford rims off Kijiji for 550 with TPMS Sensors (same rims that I have on our 2018). They were pretty much brand new and the owner said her husband bought the truck, switched rims and they have been sitting in the garage. Super Nice lady. On the Kal tire site the 20" tires were cheaper then the 18 Hakkapelitta LT3 Studded so tomorrow going to see if I can get them ordered.

    Good score on those wheels.

The Open Country CT are back ordered 6 to 8 weeks. Sounds like there's a pretty big tire shortage this year, going with studded duratracs instead.

Couldn't find what I wanted in 235/80/17s this year, so I am trying out the Marshal(kumho) AT51's. So far they're really quiet compared to the Cooper AT3s. I wanted another set of the AT3's, they last a long time and had good snow traction. I got a 104,000 kms out of the last set with 2 rotations on a loaded truck. Canadian tire had the AT3's on sale, but the page wouldn't allow them to be added to cart, they had no stock anywhere.

Finally time to swap out my Altimax Arctics as they're hitting 5 years and couple points last year was a bit dicey. Swapping over to Nokian Hakka 10's and excited to see how they fare.

Pretty brisk this AM. Probably going to be tossing winters on some time this week just for morning commute temps.

    Ordered some Bridgestone Blizzak DM-V2. A hair over a $1,000 for 235/55R20.

Costco is hard to beat for winter tire costs.

Sounds like a good deal. For fun I ran the pricing through my favourite website where I've found the tires to be the cheapest over the years and have purchased several and their pricing on these is $1181 including shipping etc. So a hair over $1K (especially if install is included) is a good deal.

That Costco price is a good deal. My employee pricing at work would be $1012.52 + tax for them. Goes to show bulk buying power gets the discounts!

Well imagine if instead of writing that letter to the editor, she just posts on a car forum for car enthusiasts. That's Kritafo.

I run some studded Kuhmo winters on my x5 (255/55/18), never had an issue with any sort of winter traction. I bought them last winter for $760cdn shipped via fedex.

i got them from Quattrotires.com out of Quebec.

I've bought two sets of tires from them in the past year, with no issues.... Highly recommended!

She said she talked to her hubby and since they were just sitting the garage gathering dust, they felt it was now the time to sell them. Now just waiting for the tires to arrive and get them mounted. Hopefully will have them mounted this Saturday. The caps had the nitrogen symbol lol. Guess I used all my luck for this year.

Just checked and we are within a buck a tire doing the Beyond discount. Granted my labour is a little more but I like to think we make it worth it...

Any time I have price checked Urban Expressions, they were either cheaper than, or comparable to, any other retailer. I'm a cheap prick, but I have never found a deal worth taking my business anywhere else.

I've had the south location quote my last two purchases and they were $150-200 off installed. Never mentioned beyond just asked for the pricing.

To be honest, just went straight to Costco this time, too bad. I would rather have bought them local if they were the same price or close.

It's all good man... Always talk to me if you can. I can't say I am cheaper etc on everything, but I am usually comparable!

Got studded Duratracs installed today, first impressions, they look pretty good for a "winter" tire, nice aggressive tread pattern. They aren't nearly as noisy as I was expecting.Name: 20211005_173606.jpg
