He's tire god. Also I know that the wheels were installed properly.
That's key compared to Costco. My cousin had an awfully balanced tire buying new from them. Got them to rebalance it, while it was busy season, they didn't do it after 1 day and lost track of the tire. Had to show up and bitch and found out the tire is at the exact same spot the staff told him to drop off, untouched.

At least it's not like that guy whose wheel fell off on Deerfoot after leaving Balzac Costco.

Yeah Costco won't warranty anything that they don't install either...which is key when you buy things like Blizzaks from them, since you HAVE to deal with them for any warranty-able issues. The Costco Blizzaks are a totally different part number to the consumer level ones, so if something went wrong, Bridgestone will tell you to pound sand

I'll preface this post with the statement that tirebob > Costco.

That being said, RE: warranty issues, I'd bet anyone $50 that it would be much much better to deal with Costco than Bridgestone for any warranty stuff.

TBF, I had a Nokian tire that got a sidewall bulge, I got a new one prorated. Cost me about $100. No fighting, no nothing, Kal Tire changed it on the spot.

Oh for sure, but if you are somewhere there is no Costco, that is the fuckup of the warranty stuff. It is frustrating as a consumer when it occurs, and I do have to hear about it I can guarantee you lol! But yes, I absolutely agree that outside of having to walk around and spend $1000 while waiting half a day for your one tire to be dealt with, they are not known for being chintzy with warranty.

I put quite a few sets of those out last year and all reports have been exceptional!

If Hakka 10's weren't exclusive to Kaltire, I'd be going to @tirebob

Alas, I have to go through them and it's a 3-4 week backorder lol.

Apparently Nokians are no longer exclusive to Kal Tire.

You should give the new Conti Ice Contact XTRM with the factory glued and molded Tri-Peak Tikka studs out of Finland a shot!

Got a set from Cort las year for the 3rd gen 4Runner. I think 32 PSI was a bit much and will run 28 psi this year.

I hate Kal Tire but only went there for the Hakka's. Hoping next time I need tires there's a better option

Managed to get the last "last" years winter tire package from the VW dealership for "$450 off". They look pretty good (I think) for a winter rims, way better than steelies!

    First time trying out Continentals.

@tirebob Is it worth the effort bringing in my summer tires into my storage room in my basement?

I have an unheated garage. I usually would just put the all seasons/winters on my homemade tire rack.

Some of the most specialized summer compounds are best kept in a more controlled environment ie not deep cold temps, but most are not going to suffer from storage in a rack. Just depends what they are.

If they aren’t under load it’s really not that big of a deal.

Under load cracking of the compound becomes a real issue.

Not saying you're wrong, but any inflated tire is loaded to about 35psi.

Thanks Bob! Bridgestone Potenza are what came on the car. First time using Bridgestone... they seem ok I guess.

So defalte them a little is the suggestion? Stock recommended PSI is 39.

Finally found some time to get the winter boots on, gonna be out of town for the rest of the weekend and things are looking potentially dicey in the weeks ahead so feels good to be ahead of it.

Yea but it’s the flexing of load every rotation that Borks them.

I’m pretty obsessive about these things usually but keeping tires in the house is one step I can’t justify. Uninsulated unheated garage it is haha.

I wouldn't worry about Potenza at all.
    *I defer expertise to Bob.

My RE050's were competent but many others are better.
