Depends what size you have. Not all models are made in all sizes. Hakka are good for sure, but they are not the only good tire. You either drink the Kool-aid or you don't and I am not ever going to tell anybody they are wrong. It isn't my game. I just try and listen to what people want and offer them tires I can get that do those things.
285/45R22 - I know Kaltire carries the Hakkas in this size...

I haven't necessarily drank the kool-aid, but the reports here are pretty compelling. I've never even had studded tires, so I don't know what I'm missing, or how much better they'd be in a what-if situation. Considering it's for my wife's car and primary kid hauler, I feel like erring on the side of caution is the right choice. On the other hand, I really dislike the idea of over kill, just 'cause.

I don’t mean drinking the koolaid to be negative. It is just a very polarizing product hence the term. I have tons of clients who have used them and will never use them again just as much as I have clients who use them and love them, but that is no different than every other major tire, and many of the minor ones out there. Like I said... I don’t get hung up on that shit as much as I just don’t buy into the “this is the best thing ever period” type mentality. Everything is relative. Something might super sticky, but you personally might hate the extra road noise more than the extra stick. You might love the handling, but hate the reduced ride quality more. You might like the durability, but hate the drop in ice traction. It just goes on and on and it comes down to what you personally are willing to sacrifice to make the improvements you demand, and the fact is that is different for everyone.

285/45R22 is an incredibly limited tire size for sure. PM me if you want to discuss the differences and how they may apply to your needs. Email [email protected] is even better lol!

Just picked up a set of Continental IceContact XTRM from UrbanX Glenmore/Barlow. New design for 2020, aluminum studs by Tikka Finland, made in Germany. 265/70-17

Thanks Cort! Been going there for 10 years, great service and prices.

Well imagine if instead of writing that letter to the editor, she just posts on a car forum for car enthusiasts. That's Kritafo.

Over the years I've had good luck with Toyo winter. My wife has them on her Murano and that thing is a tank in the winter. No studs. When my Pirelli winters are done on my BMW I'll be looking into getting Toyo's on it. Had some Hakka's on my old fit, and they were ok. Not really any different than the Michelin's I had on it before.

    Just my $0.02.

Got Michelin X-Ice Snows for the truck. Now I don't feel like I'm going to die when the truck moves.

Went with some studded Goodyear WinterCommand from UrbanX installed last Friday. First time trying out studded and I can hear the extra noise especially since it's been so dry, but it's not as bad as i thought it would be. Hasn't been too icy yet so will update later on in the winter with my review.

First time dealing with UrbanX as well and was pretty happy with the process and price. Best part was being completely in and out within 50 mins.
