Went with some studded Goodyear WinterCommand from UrbanX installed last Friday. First time trying out studded and I can hear the extra noise especially since it's been so dry, but it's not as bad as i thought it would be. Hasn't been too icy yet so will update later on in the winter with my review.

First time dealing with UrbanX as well and was pretty happy with the process and price. Best part was being completely in and out within 50 mins.
Hey thanks man! You will notice too that the noise from studs calms down a little bit as everything settles in with use. Let me know what you think after getting to play a bit!

    And don't forget the re-torque!

Had a few customers booked in for tires today that had Imperial Snowdragon 3 Ice tires and regular SnowDragon awaiting install. Never seen this brand before. Price point is hella cheap and it says "The Belgian brand" on them. Looks like a copied Hankook Icept Evo design and the other a Hakka ripoff

Had our first snowfall on Tuesday, where roads were iced up and tons of cars in ditches, no issues at all in my Highlander with the Federal Himalaya Inverno. Can't wait for worse weather to really test them out but I should of got them studded prior I think

Well imagine if instead of writing that letter to the editor, she just posts on a car forum for car enthusiasts. That's Kritafo.

My set of General Altimax Arctics are getting to the end of their life. If we stick to mostly WFH I think I'll be fine for one more year but debating replacing them early. Does Kal tire let you buy Hakka's without doing install through them or do they insist on installing?

Yeah, if you can get by tomorrow without "VW SUV-ing" your ride, then I wouldn't even put them on until next weekend at the earliest.

I usually change out my wheels after Halloween, so this is in line.

I just ordered a set of Hakka 9 for my technician on Saturday. Got the trade discount and did cash and carry pick up.

Daytime highs are meaningless. The most important factor is the night time lows which = AM commute, which will be hovering at 0 next week.

I'm in Aspen, I have dwarves that change my tires to the appropriate ones each hour based on temperature.

Smart move. Dwarves are much stockier than elves. Way better suited to manual labour.

You believe a forecast more than a week out?

You cannot give Reputation to the same post twice.

As soon as morning temps drop below 5C or so I like to have my winters on. I certainly was glad to have them on over the last week. I could do without this weather until December or so...

Got two new sets of studded winters yesterday. Wholly fuck is it loud in my wife's POS Patriot. I had them on my both my 4runner and my Avalanche and the noise was negligible, in this thing though, Jesus Christ.

No wonder a lot of people think studs are too loud. If you have a vehicle that has a lot of tire noise to begin with, it will definitely be an annoyance.

So in other words, only get studs if you have a quality vehicle.

Edit: Unrelated, but very disappointed you aren't in the shop anymore Bob. I wanted to see your beardless face in person, lol.
