Weather is clearing up starting tomorrow and clear skies for at least a week so I would not worry too much about it yet.
Temps are now suitable for winter tires regardless of snow situation. The ground is frozen. At this point in the year if you own them it's silly now to be driving on winter tires.

I'm in a rental right now (thank you BMW douchebag, you were caught on two different dashcams, you aren't getting away scot-free on this), on all-seasons. I forgot how absolutely shitty all-season tires are on snow and ice, especially when they're almost worn out. Oh, and the rental agency is trying to argue with me that "it's a brand new car" (33,000 kms), and the tires aren't worn. Hopefully my insurance allows me to go with a different rental agency today.

Going to switch over tonight. Running 22's with summer performance rubber isn't the best for winter driving.

Have been running on my new blizzaks the last few days and got my broken stud replaced today. So back into winter mode.

Just waiting on my New WS-80's to show up at Costco for the Lexus. But I put an old used set of WS-70's I picked up for cheap on the beater commuter Accord, and man am I glad to have them on now. She was a little hairy and white knuckled the one morning on my all seasons, now I'm back to gangster lean with one hand at 12 o'clock. Really want to pick up an older Quattro Audi A4/S4, but I just don't want to buy more bloody tires again. Probably going to wait till summer for another car.

Had my Pirelli Winter Sotozero 210's installed on Monday. Thank goodness I did. I had to drive to Costco in Blazac to have them installed Monday evening. That was an interesting drive from Heritage Drive!! Almost didn't get there in time, even though I left work an hour earlier!! Crazy!!!

Yesterday morning, saw a new 2019 F90 M5 Frozen Grey on Highway 1, roads were quite slick but he's a 617hp AWD with summer Pirelli's.

Haha yeah thats a little crazy. I took it easy and did not use much of my 500hp. Switched over to the winters last night, amazing the difference. Bring on more snow!

I decided to get studded Hakka 9s. After seeing what they did to the concrete floor of a parking garage, I think i regret this decision. Now I'm wondering if I can even park in the garages around downtown, because I'm going to have a trail of shredded concrete dust leading to my vehicle.

Crazy. I never had studded tired until this year, and my studs don't seem to make any damage to concrete at all. I drive straight in and out into my garage and park in a covered parkade, and don't see any damage at all.

Those marks look like youre turning your wheel while not being in motion.

That is exactly it... If you have studs and a pretty garage floor you want to make sure you are not turning while on the affected surface. Roll straight in and out and you will not have a problem. If you cannot, putting some kind of rubber mat don where you are noticing the marking will help.

Yeah it’s pretty much impossible to park a large vehicle in tight parking garage spaces without turning the wheel. Can’t put rubber mats down either. I am talking commercial garages downtown, underground hotel parking, etc. Not personal garage.

I currently rock Toyo Observe Garit KX, when I do need to switch in a few years, I'm leaning towards some Yokohama Iceguard IG52C. Anyone have experience on these?
I run the IG52c's on my Genesis and they are a very comfortable and capable tire. Really good in slush which we get a lot of here in Calgary. Price for performance, youll be very happy. Let me know if you need any more info!

I have an epoxy garage floor and hakka 9s and have not noticed this kind of marking on the floor. Also I have not noticed this kind of marking on my driveway, mind you I havent been turning the wheel and not moving at the same time.

Unless the parking garages put up some sort of "no studded tires sign" I wouldnt worry about it.

Whether there is a sign or not, nobody wants intentional property damage. It would be a dick move to tear up a nice floor and then shrug it off by blaming them for not having a sign. They don’t have a “no jackhammers” sign either

I have had studded hakkas for about 9 years now and haven't had that kind of damage on my garage floors.
