    Default Washer woes F3E1 code

Anyone have experience with this code? I've checked for blockages as much as I can, then I replaced the pressure switch.... if it's not the switch it'll be the pump right?? Funny enough I looked up the part after I pulled it out, looked online and apparently the pump has been replaced by another part number, maybe it's a shit pump to begin with...

Just wondering if I'm on the right track, usually if it's not the switch, it's the pump for this code?... it definitely has problems draining then the code comes up.. if I do a straight rinse and drain though it works.. kind of confused at that.

It's a whirlpool by the way, just under 2 years old. And no, I don't know how to check voltages and all that, the parts aren't crazy expensive and I figure if it's not the broken part, I'll at least keep the new part as a spare.

Have you cleaned the filter? They normally have a filter under the front panel. I once had a hair elastic it in, in my case it was wrapped around a drain pump. What model is it?

Are you talking about the filter inside the drain pump? Then yes... also cleaned out the inner rubber circle.

Model is WFW75HEFW Whirlpool front load, the most basic model.

I really have a feeling it's the pump knock on wood, kind of odd they already have a revised one for it, maybe there's been lots of failures... kind of hard as it's not like cars and there's a popular forum for washer repairs lol... but I really need to sit down and learn how to use a voltmeter one of these days.

Have you checked the air trap for a blockage?

Hmmm well you're on the right track man. Is the new switch in fact a new switch? Meaning it wasn't part of the old stock before the improvements were made. It does sound like a faulty pressure switch. Wondering if you got a bad one as replacement. Does it pump out water at all? Can you hear the pump at all? Do you ever get through a cycle all the way through? When does the error light show up?

Bought a new pump this morning hopefully it works knock on wood...

The switch is from Reliable, have to look at the package again, should be oem quality. The pump I bought is an actual Whirlpool part, so I imagine the switch is as well.

It works completely fine with a rinse and drain cycle... but any other cycle, it flashes the code after about 15 minutes, I'd imagine that's possibly the first drain? It flashes the code then slowly drains then unlocks the door.... I'm hoping maybe the pump can only drain full speed or super slow and nothing in between?

    I'm hoping I don't need a new board, those are $480. I've already spent $150 and a new machine is $1100.

Tested two loads after replacing drain pump.. works for now knock on wood.

I DID notice the water supply switches weren't turned all the way on.... problems started after we got back from camping and my wife turned it back on, but only halfway, so maybe I can blame her, but then that's makes me a freaking idiot for not checking that... the code is for water pressure level so I guess the taps not being turned all the way on would cause that

Haha yup... always good to start with the easy stuff first. Good lesson learned and glad you got it sorted.
