this scammer has been watching Black Mirror a bit too much :P

Sad thing is that some people might actually fall for it... what a shame.

People might fall for it, but the worst part is that simply the data is out there in the wild.

Search your email account for NCIX invoices. If you used paypal and don't use the same password for everything you are fine.

Well the NCIX data is clearly out there. Got this email this AM, complete with the correct unique password I used on NCIX.

Guy's right, I do have great taste in porn.

If i get an email as a contact stating that rage2 was watching porn, it wouldn't phase me in the slightest hahahaha....

Had a rep there asking me to apply for terms, fortunately we didn't consider them a vendor so I never did. Thank goodness.

Getting our corporate card changed with the bank now, it's pretty low risk at this point but take the risk at all.

No idea what password I would have used. I almost hope I get an email like rage2 so I know.

MOST webcams even those on laptops have a light or indicator it is in use.

in theory someone could hack the driver/firmware of the camera so that it doesn't activate the light when it's in use.

in this case, old school method (i.e. tape/sticker over the camera) is really the safest. Our work IT has been handing out stickers to put over the camera... hell even mark zuckerburg does it.

yup, even my work is passing out branded webcam stickers now. I have been doing this for years with just a small square of black tape, and my dedicated stand-alone webcam gets pointed straight up when not in use, so enjoy the view of my ceiling tiles.

At my kids school they talk about cyber security with the kids (this was 2 years ago in Gr4), and they recommended using band-aids over the built-in cameras in laptops. The sticky part goes on both sides and the soft part keeps the lens clean and with no sticky residue on it. So that's what we've done at our house. I might even do it on the front-facing cameras on the ipads/tablets but haven't taken it that far yet.
