On a somewhat related note, is conversion therapy really a thing in this part of the world or is it just in the deep South of the US / bible belt? Or are the NDP just creating a law for something that doesn't exist? Is this akin to banning all people over 10 feet tall from public transit?

Not that I am saying its a great process. Have you ever considered, I dunno, that some people don't want to be gay (even if they are) and would like to try as best as they can to not be? Where are the resources for them? Well, these are their resources. So no, I don't think it needs to be MADE ILLEGAL.

Of course, the funny thing about gay conversion clinics, is that the left screams that sexuality is a spectrum, not a binary black/white orientation. So again, even in their opinion, these clinics have their place. But of course, being the hypocrites they are, they don't actually mean what they say, and don't stand behind the logical conclusions of the idiotic screaming.

I think it’s dangerous precedent to essentially make it illegal to treat gender disphoria if that is why a doctor recommends.

Overall my stance is let people do what they want, whether that’s praying the gay away or pumping yourself full of hormones to grow yourself tits. Seems like a pretty stupid piece of legislation in that regard.

As mentioned, it's trap legislation to try and get the worst social conservatives to be up in arms that they can't force minors into conversion therapy and have the government pay for it (something the government already doesn't have to do because the programs covered by insurance wouldn't do them anyway on moral grounds).

Your concerns about gender dysphoria would be valid if there was anybody on the left (or right for that matter) who supported government insured hormone therapy on a minor against their will.
